Royal Enfield Explorer 50 is an exclusive nameplate that most fans must have heard for the first time. The model seen here is a 1988 Explorer with 49cc of engine displacement and a retro 3-speed gearbox.

R Deena Dayalan, a motorcycle collector, has a collection of classic machines and this motorcycle is one of his prized possessions, perfectly restored and finished in the blue shade for a head-turning appeal.

The motorcycle was purchased for a price of INR 10,000 and it took around INR 24,000 for the restoration process. Being a 2-stroke motorcycle, the small engine takes the motorcycle to a top speed of 60kph.

Explorer 50 features an old Enfield logo on the fuel tank while the suspension and brake components have been completely restored. The flat seat looks very comfortable while the footpegs have been placed like a commuter motorcycle. The Explorer 50 used to come with alloy wheels as stock while the design is quite unique in comparison to other Enfield motorcycles.

Royal Enfield was known for its 350cc and 500cc engine options in the 1980s. The tyre size on the Explorer 50 is very thin in comparison to the rest of the Royal Enfield bikes of that time. The engine has been completely restored to achieve that black/silver finish, similar to a new motorcycle.

The front suspension features black rubber covers while the seat has a familiar white line running through the side. The headlight is rectangular in shape while the console also flaunts the Enfield logo at the front side.

The motorcycle features a raised handlebar, chrome luggage carrier, and extended rear fender with body-coloured panels. The front fender is finished in chrome like the original Enfield Explorer 50. The brand is known for huge displacement motorcycles and that makes Explorer a unique offering among all other products like Bullet and Thunderbird.

Yamaha RX 135 is one of the most famous motorcycles with a 2-stroke engine that defines the legacy of the brand in the Indian market. The star performer of its time has been recently restored by Vedansh Automobile from Dehradun. The fully-restored 2004 model of the RX 135 retains the same stunning exterior like that of its standard version though features a Candy Red paint job.

There aren’t any mechanical changes made to the restored motorcycle. It continues to be powered by a 132cc, 2-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 14HP at 7500 rpm and an utmost torque of 12.25 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the bike gets dual shock absorbers. The Yamaha RX 135 gets 130mm drum brakes at either end. The company-claimed top speed of the motorcycle stands at 110 kmph.

Fully Restored Yamaha RX 135

Retaining the duplex double cradle type frame, the customization made to the motorcycle includes a redesigned handlebar from Protaper. The grab rail of the motorcycle has been altered a little bit and the open-ended design doesn’t gel with the classic design of the Yamaha RX 135. The instrument console, chrome spoke wheels, as well as the headlight, retains their retro originality.

Restored Yamaha RD350 by ‘The Royal Restorers’: Yamaha RD350 is a prized possession for its owner in every manner. The popular 2-stroke bike was once the most powerful motorcycles for the Indian market, carrying a twin-cylinder 347cc engine that was good for 30.5 BHP at 6750 rpm and 32.3 Nm at 6500 rpm. This helped it claim the winning spot over the popular models like Royal Enfield Bullet and other RX models of its time. Finding one in a brand new condition is a rare possibility. ‘The Royal Restorers’ can help your wandering soul get some rest with their fully restored RD350.

The original bike was lost in the harsh hands of time, carrying rusted parts like bad rims, engine parts, exhaust and even both the fenders. The fuel tank had lost all its charm with excessive rust on all sides. The paint was even dead and carried no shine at all. It took a lot of effort for the restoration of this Yamaha RD350 as every single part was to be removed and then restored for the best effect. The bike was totally stripped down to bare bones and the work was started at full throttle. The engine was overhauled and tuned for better performance.

Every component was restored to the original condition, Chrome was reapplied over all the parts and the fuel tank has been finished in pure White. Yamaha moniker was placed proudly on both the sides while the engine was completely finished in Black and Chrome for added appeal. The Chrome wheels with all-new tyres looked stunning while both the fenders look even better than the ones used on present day bikes. It would be hard to guess the feelings of true Yamaha fan after having the glimpse of such a beautiful example of an RD350 in front of their eyes.

Unlike the one finished in White, two other RD350s were finished in Red and Black respectively. The Royal Restorers would need around 45 days to turn a regular rusted RD350 into this superb motorcycling marvel. The precision in their work can be seen within every bit of these three motorcycles. Choosing a shade is more of a personal opinion but looking at that perfectly finished White RD350 will definitely take many riders back into the era of 2-stroke riding. The cost estimations will vary with the needs of the customer.

Yamaha RX Fleet recently restored this 2003 Yamaha RX135 and brought back the full glory associated with the model. The total cost of restoration was INR 23,000 and every single part now speaks for itself after the applaudable work. The fuel tank and side panels are painted in the black shade while Yamaha and RX135 monikers are seen on the places where they were originally seen in 2003.

The golden highlight on the fuel tank looks elegant while a bright stripe runs right under the same for a premium feel. The front and rear fenders are entirely chrome while suspension setup at the front features chrome headlight-holder and silver-finished lower section.

The alloy wheels were not available as standard on the motorcycle but, the 3-spoke design was very popular from 2005-2010. The same design was favoured by most Royal Enfield owners, with some even going for the two-spoke design with massive curved attachments.

The motorcycle is already seen with a leg guard and fully-restored engine section that looks next to new with the intense detailing effort by the Yamaha RX Fleet. The rear comes with black springs and chrome covers like most bikes of that era.

The visible grabrail and round yellow indicators are identical to the parts that Yamaha offered in 2003. The instrument console features three-pod design with centre section carrying the speedometer and odometer. The exhaust on the motorcycle is finished in chrome from the tip to the outer end.

Yamaha RX135 is powered by a 132cc, two-stroke engine producing 14 HP of maximum power and 12.25 Nm of torque. The low 116 kg of weight makes it an impressive bike as one can imagine KTM 125 Duke with 148 kg of weight and 14.5 HP of maximum power. The two-stroke engines were really powerful in comparison to the present-gen motors.

Yamaha RX 100 is notably the most frugal product of its kind. Some owners are in true love with the machine and perfect restorations for the 2-stroke commuter are a proof that even modifiers understand the need of keeping the 2-stroke king in its original form. This restored Yamaha RX 100 can take you back into time by almost 2 decades as even the brand could get excited by watching this machine perform in a timeless manner. The black body paint with golden pinstripes is directly derived from the original paint finish of the motorcycle. The engine bay is also restored with the elegant silver finish.

The front fender is also painted completely in chrome while the seat was given a slight custom touch with a ribbed design. The instrument console, chrome spoke wheels and every element from the headlight section screams originality. Yamaha RX 100 is powered by a 98cc, single cylinder engine producing 11 BHP at 7500 rpm and 10.39 Nm at 6500 rpm. The bike weighs 103 kg in the stock condition while the 100 kph of top speed was another segment-leading achievement. The grab rail is also the original one seen on the stock motorcycle, running all the way parallel to the rear seat for added utility

Taurus was a 325cc diesel motorcycle, specially made for India in order to kerb the rising trend of fitting custom diesel engines in 350cc Bullet frames. It was once a household name but soon vanished with implementation of stricter emission norms. Taurus looked almost the same as standard Bullet but has a different scene when its engine bay is considered. This typical Royal Enfield Taurus from ParPin’s garage not just looks clean but even carries the most neatly arranged diesel engine. Looking at a closeup shot for its engine may create a false feeling of looking at a brand new engine.

They have used Army Green for all body components while remaining parts are finished in Black for a perfect contrast. In fact, the restoration and paint scheme makes it hard to guess that this bike existed couple of decades back. They have used three spoke Black alloy wheels in place of stock spoke rims. As it existed before the major change in Royal Enfield’s engine lineup, the left side brake layout makes it even more unique to drive. Taurus came with a chrome exhaust while ParPin’s Garage used the same exhaust with Matt Black finish. The seat used here remains the same as stock 325cc Taurus.

Restored 325cc Royal Enfield Taurus Diesel

Royal Enfield’s diesel engine was good for just 6.5 BHP @ 3600 rpm of maximum power and 15 Nm @ 2500 rpm of maximum torque. Enfield claimed around 70 kmpl of real world mileage. This made Taurus the least fuel consuming machine around its segment. Few claims regarding the top speed states that it falls between 80-90 kmph. Although, no one ever claimed the time it took to reach such high speed in its years of peak availability. Royal Enfield is currently the longest production motorcycle company and Bullet inspired design seems to be most familiar one of its time. Currently, the brand sells more than 60,000 units each month with Classic 350 as the highest seller.

ParPin’s Garage recently restored a 1999 Rajdoot Electronic 175 and enhanced its visual parts with the use of bright colors on different components. This motorcycle uses a two stroke, 173cc engine that comes paired to a 3-speed gearbox. This factor makes it the most unique machine out of all other customizations witnessed till date. Being a member of Escort Group’s early lineup, it can be clearly called the younger brother of Rajdoot 350 aka RD350. Apart from their common parent brand for the Indian market, both have nothing to share at all.

Rajdoot Electronic 175
Superbly Restored Rajdoot Electronic 175 by ParPin’s Garage

This one is based on a Poland sourced SHL M11 while Japan based Yamaha was the source for Rajdoot 350. ParPin’s Garage first removed every single panel from the body and started working on restoring each one of them for the final product. The engine was buffed and a Royal Enfield sourced carburetor was used to get the perfect functioning. The Soviet style headlight was removed for this three element headlight that has a projector from Bajaj Pulsar 220 and twin LED lights. The tyres on use are Michelin Sirac 3.25-19 and 3.50-19 for front and rear respectively.

Rajdoot-Electronic-175-1

Rajdoot Electronic 175 has been finished in the same Gloss Black and Chrome combination as the stock unit. The difference that can clearly see is the use of Blue frame and Red chain cover on the motorcycle. The rear fender on the bike is even sourced from Royal Enfield Classic 350. ParPin’s Garage has finished the exhaust system in Chrome while its seat also gets a custom treatment. Rajdoot 175 gets a unique suspension setup and that has been completely restored and kept in stock position. This bike belongs to Mr. Parvez, the owner of ParPin’s Garage.

Rebirth of an Iconic Indian Army Bullet: Royal Enfield Bullet have always been one of the most popular bikes across the world. From their menacingly rugged macho vintage looks to the amazing low end torque delivery, they have been acquiring the top most place in the hearts of the riders. Royal Enfield (RE) is the oldest motorcycle brand in the world, with the Bullet model enjoying the longest motorcycle production run of all time.

Indian Army Bullet
Rebirth of an Iconic Indian Army Bullet

In fact the Iconic “Bullet” is so much loved that today all Royal Enfields are popularly called as Bullet despite the different models in production. ‘Royal Enfield’ and ‘Bullet’, these names are not new for the Indian Armed Forces. Their history with the Indian Army started only in 1949, when the Indian government ordered Royal Enfield Bullets for border patrol use. Since then, Royal Enfields have maintained a relation with the Indian Army and they got another identity in the country as military bikes.

Although in past few years RE has developed an entirely new more efficient Unit Construction engine but the old Cast Iron engine still holds its charm among many enthusiasts, a major reason why restoring Old Royal Enfield is popular now a days. There have been many restorations of RE Army Bullet but this one is worth mentioning. Restored by an enthusiast at home, who is one of many RE lovers across the country!

The motivation behind this project of his was that he had an Old Bullet in his family for quite a long time and is very dear to him. It eventually got bad sometime ago and the restoration was not up to the mark. The restoration of Army Bullet was his idea of learning from the scratch and he ended up bringing it back to its lost charm.

The bike he restored was a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (Cast Iron) and found it at a dealer who deals in decommissioned Army Vehicles near his place. The bike was rather badly ruined & was left to die a Brutal, Rusty death! He wanted to use maximum of the bike’s original parts for restoration & that is why it took him more than 3 months to bring it back to life. Whichever parts he replaced are either from RE authorized parts distributors or imported. Other than minor changes the bike is restored in stock format as it use to be available till the time production stopped back in 2010.

About the Restorer: The bike is restored by Vijay Chaudhary, a Marine Mechanical Engineer currently working with Maerskline. He is a hobbyist & not a professional restorer. He usually keeps himself busy with some projects during his vacation & this is one of them.

About the Bike: 2007 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (Cast Iron) which he got from a dealer who deals in all kinds of decommissioned Army vehicles near his place.

For further restoration details you can get in touch with him on Facebook or via email: vijaychoudhary3223@gmail.com

The Royal Restorers will help Lambretta fans relive the history through their beautifully finished scooter from 1971. This machine speaks for itself and more than that, calls every vintage scooter lover to have a ride and replay their life through the old days of 1970s.

This typical Lambretta has been completely restored and can be successfully placed in a collection of vintage machines with utmost pride. The unique bodyline gets dual tone finish in excellent combination of White and Red.

The signature Lambretta side panels are removable from both sides, giving excellent contrast to the White center body and confirming the presence of Italian Vintage design before the rider.

The front and rear seats are replicas of each other while you will even notice the spare tyre placement in the unique Lambretta way. Front section of the scooter carries a huge fender while brand new tyres can be seen at both the ends. Scooter fans will even notice the extended foot area that is unique to this brand.

Carrying a reworked 150cc engine, the scooter is now in the hands of an owner in Pune. The Royal Restorers currently have 4 scooters with them, all standing in the same condition as the one seen here before restoration.

They will need around 30-45 days for the job and you could get your favorite Lambretta in the color of your choice. No hint for the pricing was given currently while one could directly interact with them for the pricing. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful vintage scooter ever.

Yamaha RX 100 fans will surely enjoy this visual delight. The neatly restored RX100 by Vedansh Automobile poses partially as a cafe racer, flaunting body color coded handlebar finish, and partially as itself through the conventional rear half design.

The choice of Yellow as the primary shade has helped RX 100 gain more attention than ever. The finish is so neat that keeping eyes off from the motorcycle is not a possibility for a true Yamaha fan. The use of thick treaded tires on both ends and black finished spoke wheels create a perfect contrast between the upper and lower half of the motorcycle.

The use of clip-on handlebar results in an aggressive seating position for the rider whereas pillion enjoys maximum comfort with full-length seat and extra wide rear padding. The motorcycle is completely restored, offering impressive levels of detail for each part used on the body.

The modifiers have kept the standard instrument console, front suspension and exhaust design on the motorcycle. The rear suspension is slightly lifted to make space for the thicker tire. It still looks equally natural with slight additions. The engine section is completely black and so are the side panels, drum brakes and front and rear fender.

The chopped fenders at both ends look imposing, further showing sophistication at the rear with an extended mud protector. The headlight and taillight design stay stock on the RX100. The motorcycle is a dream for lakhs of Indian buyers, discontinued a long time back for not fulfilling the upgraded emission norms.

If launched in India with a BS4 compliant engine, Yamaha RX100 can be one among the highest selling bikes in a short period of time. It is powered by a 98cc, single cylinder, 2-stroke engine, producing 11 bhp at 7500 rpm and 10.39 Nm at 6500 rpm.
