A recent report in the automotive industry claims that Bajaj Pulsar NS250 has entered the initial days of development. As Pulsar NS200 and RS200 were developed out of the 199.5cc motor from KTM Duke 200 and RC200, the Pulsar NS250 will be based on the KTM 250 Duke. The 248.8cc engine will be tuned according to the equipment available on the new Pulsar and thus, Bajaj will enter the league of quarter-litre machines in 2020. As the first motorcycle to be made out of KTM technology was NS200, expecting the 250cc option to use the familiar streetfighter design language is quite natural. Here is a render of Pulsar NS250 from SRK Designs that defines elegance out of a perfectly proportionate street machine.

The elements are shared with multiple bikes and the front Dominar-inspired headlight looks really amazing. The buyers are happy to have Bajaj Pulsar NS200 at INR 1.12 lakh for the ABS variant but rising demand for motorcycles like Yamaha FZ25 has forced them to consider the bigger displacement section. Suzuki is also planning to enter the 250cc segment with the Gixxer 250 in coming months. Also, the addition of ABS to other motorcycles above 150cc will raise the base pricing for every rival and Bajaj can differentiate the existing Pulsar 220 and upcoming Pulsar 250 in a better way. The new Pulsar NS250 will be available with Dominar sourced dual-channel ABS.

Bajaj Pulsar NS250 will Rival the Suzuki Gixxer 250 Street Fighter in India

Bajaj is expected to price the model around INR 1.40 lakh, that too when equipped with fuel injection and liquid cooling as standard. The cost-cutting measure may not be applied on the quarter-litre machine as Bajaj buyers will feel easy to choose one among the available options like RS200 and Pulsar NS250 from the same price section. It will be the same as KTM 250 Duke and RC 200 getting similar pricing as fairing results in additional cost on the motorcycle. Bajaj Pulsar series currently has 150, 160, 180, 200 and 220cc engine options. The 125cc engine from Duke 125 can also be considered in the coming months.

2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is detailed here in a walkaround video, clearly showing the changes that buyers were expecting from the motorcycle from a long time. Above all other speculations, the motorcycle here looks almost similar to the Pulsar CS400 concept, getting familiar USD forks. The image seen earlier came in the red shade while the walkaround video here shows camouflage over the body. The thick forks are finished in the black shade, further getting a slightly different front fender from the version currently available in all markets. The double barrel exhaust sounds better, and the design seems to be inspired from the unit seen on Suzuki Intruder 150 and Kawasaki Z1000.

The front disc brake has moved to the left side, with most fans expecting a better braking system for safe long distance rides. It seems like they are also making space for the main stand as the new exhaust design frees some space from the lowermost section. Some other expected changes on the motorcycle include a slightly longer pillion seat, revised handlebar, larger radiator, and a different leg guard. Bajaj may reuse the black and chrome alloy wheel combination to make the black USD forks feel comfortable while the recent video shows the golden finished forks.

Bajaj Dominar 400 is currently available for INR 1.63 lakh for the only available ABS version. The list of changes will take the price up by a decent margin. The government’s order of retailing just ABS equipped model after March 31, 2019, forced them to discontinue the non-ABS version in advance. The effective price for this model will be somewhere around INR 1.79 lakh, with Bajaj having an option to absorb some of the value and getting an introductory INR 1.69 lakh price tag. The added features will list Dominar as a more premium option, rivaling none other than KTM 390 Duke and BMW G310R.

The owners of Bajaj Dominar 400 will not need to worry anymore for the vibrations as the company is offering a kit that has helped many buyers enjoy vibration-free riding on their 2017 and 2018 models of Dominar 400. The kit is free of cost as all you need to do is inform your dealer about the issue and take the bike to the service centre for one day. It will take around 4 hours for the fitment and after that, long rides will become even easier than ever.

Bajaj Dominar 400 Vibration Issues Solved

The dealer will not even charge the labour fee for this fitment. The parts from the kit are fitted on all places that are prone to vibrations. It seems like the seals and parts will be used as stock on the new Dominar and Bajaj is not taking any chance with the existing buyers of the brand. Just 170 units of Dominar were sold in December 2018, and offering better services and parts will help the brand enjoy strong position among all other rivals.

Meet Bajaj Avenger Premium Cruiser Concept: Avenger 220 is the sportiest cruiser that one can buy in India under INR 1.25 lakh (on-road). Even though Bajaj has updated the cruiser models for 2019, this rendered image of Avenger turning into a premium cruiser is worth a mention. The front of Avenger now comes with a thin fender here while headlight looks inspired from the bobber models with emphasis on character and road presence.

The fuel tank stays true to the Avenger lineup while single seat from the Harley Street Bob feels like home on this rendering by SRK Designs. The rear fender is also chopped to achieve a premium look for the cruiser. The exhaust seen here feels massive for the body while rear suspension features gas canister and impressive sporty springs on the model. The panel under the seat brings the perfect connection between the fuel tank and rear fender of the motorcycle.

The taillight on the rendered motorcycle is placed on the top of its rear fender. The engine bay stays standard here while no difference is seen on the fuel tank-mounted console of the Avenger. The rear disc brake seems sourced from a premium motorcycle as size feels large for 16-inch tire size. The tires on both ends are also bigger than ever.

Bajaj Avenger 220 is preparing for an ABS update as a recent automotive report hints the launch of the popular cruiser with a single channel ABS this month. The motorcycle will launch with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1,02,425. The price hike will stay around INR 6700 as Avengers are already quite expensive in comparison to regular bikes and thus, absorbing the difference in price will justify the presence of the cruiser motorcycle.

Bajaj Avenger ABS

Bajaj Auto will use the same ABS unit as Pulsar 220F (also expected to launch this month) for the motorcycle. The same ABS unit will be shared with the remaining motorcycles in the company lineup. Some dealers have started accepting bookings for the ABS-equipped models while the brand is yet to announce the official arrival of these options. The same ABS unit will also be seen on the 180cc Avenger. Bajaj Avenger rivals a long list of motorcycles in the cruiser section, with only Suzuki Intruder being smaller in displacement.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Series
220cc Bajaj Avenger Cruise and Street in White Shade

Every manufacturer is working on ABS-equipped motorcycles that are more than 125cc in displacement. Apart from Yamaha, every other brand has tested the ABS unit on one of their non-ABS models. Bajaj Auto retails Pulsar 150, NS160, 180 and 220F in the sportbike, V15 in the commuter and Avenger series in the cruiser segment. The most powerful among all are the 200cc RS and NS series motorcycles with liquid cooling in both and fuel injection in the fully faired model. Bajaj Avenger 220 is undoubtedly the most powerful cruiser at this point as Suzuki Intruder comes with just a 155cc engine. The 220cc model of Avenger generates maximum power and maximum torque of 19.03 HP and 17.5 NM respectively.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS is reported to get an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1,05,254. It was recently spotted with an ABS ring on its front disc brake, hinting at an updated product before the implementation of mandatory ABS rule for bikes with 125cc or above displacement. As expected, the motorcycle is carrying a new shade pattern and does not support any new design lines on its semi-faired body design. As Bajaj is yet to upgrade the ABS system on flagship Pulsars, the 220F will support a single channel unit.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS
Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS to be Priced @ INR 1.05 Lakh (Ex-Showroom)

Bajaj only offers dual-channel ABS option on Dominar 400, leaving a negligible price gap of INR 2000 between the units used on Pulsar RS200 and the flagship sports tourer. However, the price gap seen here is less than INR 7000. The 220cc, single cylinder engine on Bajaj Pulsar 220F is good for 20.93 PS at 8500 rpm and 18.55 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and lacks advanced feature list like next generation Pulsars. Still, the sales number has a different story to narrate.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS Reaches Dealerships Ahead of Official Launch

The 220F ABS was recently also seen at a dealership, click here to check out the photos. Bajaj Pulsar series registered slightly less than 70,000 units in sales number in December 2018. The boost in sales for most models came through the introduction of different offers by Bajaj where they offer free insurance and extended warranty with different bikes. Pulsar 220F has a cult fan following in India. One can see the detailed sales numbers for this 220cc, oil cooled machine and feel the difference that it creates for Bajaj Auto. Even the present generation of models like NS200 and RS200 are away from achieving this feat with aggressive design and more technology on offer.

Bajaj Dominar 400 is preparing for an upgrade, leaving the tag of an affordable sports cruiser for this new avatar that supports premium silver finished USD forks and new double barrel exhaust. Dominar is currently available for INR 1.63 lakh for the dual-channel ABS variant, leaving us with a safe assumption of a price tag under INR 1.80 lakh for the upgraded 2019 model of Dominar 400. The invisible mechanical changes will be listed only after the official reveal of the bike in the coming weeks. The use of USD forks will improve the handling factor on 2019 Bajaj Dominar, providing buyers with better high-speed stability and low-speed riding comfort.

The radiator feels bigger than before, hinting at better cooling efficiency on the new and improved variant. The model spotted here might also be equipped with ride by wire and DOHC engine like the 390 Duke, pushing the premium quotient up by one more step. The requirements for the upcoming emission norms may also be fulfilled through 2019 Bajaj Dominar as most reports claim that the new exhaust will help Bajaj claim BS6 compliant status this year. Currently, the Dominar is powered by a 373.2cc, single cylinder engine, producing 35HP and 35Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch as standard.

The motorcycle weighs 182 kg and rivals Honda CBR250R, KTM 250 Duke, Jawa 42, and the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in its performance segment. The engine, however, takes BMW G310R and Apache RR  310 into consideration of rivalry. Bajaj Dominar was introduced in three new shades and upgrading those may not be one step among others in the company plans. The base variant was earlier priced at INR 1.48 lakh, leaving a limited number of buyers with the non-ABS model for the flagship Bajaj product.

The prices for Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS have leaked along with the dealer warehouse photos for the model. The motorcycle is seen in both Street and Cruise version, getting single-channel ABS for the front brake and using rear lift protection on the drum brake for the first time. Before Avenger 220 ABS, no other model was seen with this sensor on a drum brake. The ex-showroom price for Avenger 220 ABS is INR 1,02,500 for Mumbai while on-road price touches INR 1.27 lakh. This means Avenger 220 is getting the ABS feature for the least difference (INR 6800) in comparison to other Bajaj bikes.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street ABS
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street ABS

The difference is almost half the amount that Bajaj charges for single-channel ABS on other bikes like Pulsar NS200 and RS200. The inclusion of ABS is mandatory for all bikes above 125cc displacement in India from April 1, 2019. The manufacturers are bringing the products one by one by keeping the sales number in mind. On the other hand, it would have been easy for the buyers if they had introduced all the ABS versions at once and retailed the non-ABS options until stocks last. The difference for Suzuki bikes is limited under INR 7000 while Bajaj takes INR 12,000 for the Pulsar range.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F was earlier spotted with an ABS ring on its disc brake and now, the same has started reaching dealerships in India. The images confirm that the updated product will launch before the implementation of mandatory ABS rule for bikes with 125cc or above displacement. As expected, the motorcycle is carrying a new shade pattern and does not support any new design line on its semi-faired body.

The Bajaj fans are divided into two groups, out of which one was eagerly waiting for something new and feels disappointed while the other loves the traditional design lines of the frugal Pulsar 220F. As Bajaj is yet to upgrade the ABS system on flagship Pulsars, the 220F is expected to support a single channel unit with RLP (Rear Lift Protection). The ABS model of Pulsar 220F is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.10 lakh.

Bajaj only offers dual-channel ABS option on Dominar 400, leaving a negligible price gap of INR 2000 between the units used on Pulsar RS200 and the flagship sports tourer. They may introduce the same on all bikes next year but presently, the difference in price may be counted as a huge factor against non-ABS rivals.

Bajaj Pulsar series registered around 70,000 units in sales number in November. The new five-year insurance rule had almost zero impact on the sales number. It was because the brands absorbed the remaining four-year third-party premium. Pulsar 220F has a cult fan following in India. One can see the sales number for this 220cc, oil cooled machine and feel the difference that it creates for Bajaj Auto. Even the present generation of models like NS200 and RS200 are away from achieving this feat with aggressive design and more technology on offer.
