A 2012 model of the Hero Karizma R has been recently modified by a Calicut-based custom motorcycle enthusiast by the name Mohamed Adhil. The modified motorcycle is his first-ever project which he has christened as Katalan.

The motorcycle has been imparted with an overall scrambler design language with the use of custom body parts. Coming to the front fascia, the modified bike now features a conventional round headlight unit which is further mated to a lens grille. The turn indicators of the bike have been neatly integrated on top of the front forks while the mudguard has been revised and is now a rally-inspired unit.

The riding position of the modified motorcycle has been revised with a redesigned handlebar unit while the addition of rubber bar ends adds to its overall rugged appeal. The engine start-stop switch on the motorcycle has been mounted on the side while the single pod instrument cluster accentuates the unique design of this modified Hero Karizma R.

The fuel tank of the motorcycle has been replaced with a bulkier unit and now features an overall glossy green paint with silver accents on the tank pads. The modifier has further imparted the fuel tank with a compass on the left-hand side while the right side features the fuel filler.

The swingarm on the modified motorcycle features the battery system just adjacent to it while the overall wiring has been neatly tucked under the fuel tank. The modifier has replaced the standard forks on the Hero Karizma R with that of Hero Impulse to offer better handling to the scrambler on every terrain.

In addition to this, the gear lever, as well as the rider footpegs, have also been revised to accentuate the rugged profile of the motorcycle. The exhaust system on the stock motorcycle has also been redesigned and is now a two-in-one unit with the rear end being offered a chrome finish while the blackened muffler has been tucked inside the body cladding with “82” written on top.

The Hero Karizma R Katalan has been equipped with muscular tyres at the front as well as back while there have been no alterations made to the stock engine mechanically. Powering the Katalan is the same 223cc air-cooled, single-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 19.2HP of maximum power and 19.35Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

300cc Hero Karizma Sports Bike in the Making: As per the recent reports, Hero Karizma will be back and this time, there will be nothing less than 300cc worth displacement for this powerful nameplate. Even though some reports suggest that Hero MotoCorp will prefer a 200cc engine from the XPulse but the brand is expected to take the benchmark up by one level.

As the brand has scrapped its 250cc engine and HX250R project, one can safely assume that 300cc Karizma would be the next big thing for the Indian market. Moreover, the brand has developed a new platform through XF3R and the next-gen Karizma sports bike would be based on the same platform.

With the launch of the 300cc Hero Karizma, the brand will once again get a premium flagship motorcycle under its portfolio. Karizma with a powerful 300cc engine would mean a true threat to the TVS Apache RR 310 and the KTM RC 390.

More than that, those looking for decent performance and reliable branding will also prefer Hero Karizma. India’s highest-selling brand knows how to market things competitively and thus, getting a performance-centric sports bike for around INR 1.60-1.75 lakh will not be a bad option.

The next-gen model of the Karizma is expected to come equipped with electronic fuel injection, liquid cooling, dual-channel ABS, all-digital instrument console and the entire set of features that are available on the bikes of this generation.

Hero bikes are well known for fuel-efficient engines with class-leading mileage figures and less-than-usual maintenance cost. Hero officials have also confirmed that the Karizma nameplate is not dead and it will be back in the coming years. The brand recently removed the Karizma 220 from its official website and before being discontinued, it was available for INR 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom).

Custom-Made Hero Karizma Retro Standard: Motorcycle customization that results in a modern-day sports bike to look like the old school standard two-wheeler inspired from the 1980s and features the same aristocratic persona is what the Gear Gear Motorcycles, a customization shop in Bangalore has revealed to its audience.

The customizers were keen to offer the stock Hero Karizma 220 some out-of-the-box inspired outlook and at the same time something entirely different from the basic cafe racer or a tracker design language. So, they stuck with the idea of offering the very famous sports bike a standard 80’s two-wheeler outlook which redefines the retro styling adorned with some modern-day features.

Coming to the ancestral outlook offered to the customized motorcycle, the rear subframe of the stock Karizma 220 was redesigned while the customizers have equipped it with a retro spoke wheels setup that eliminated the alloy wheels seen on the stock sports bike.

The fuel tank on the stock model of the motorcycle has been replaced with a simpler design while the customized motorcycle has been shod with a single custom seat setup inspired from the vintage bikes and adorned with brown leather.

Coming to the front fascia, the motorcycle now features a round headlight unit that has been housed in chrome while the similar chrome treatment has been offered to the front mudguard. The clip-on handlebar at the front has been equipped with a single speedometer unit on top while the customizers have equipped the bike with a small-custom exhaust unit as well as a K&N filter.

Adding to the retro outlook is the wider tyres at the front and the rear in addition to the simplistic taillight as well as turn indicators setup. The customizers have further repositioned the battery while the area under the seat has been left with the empty space to add to its distinguished outlook.

Apart from the cosmetic changes, the motorcycle has been left mechanically unaltered. Powering the motorcycle is the same 223cc, oil-cooled engine that is good for 20 BHP @ 8000 rpm and 19.7 NM @ 6500 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox and offers a thrilling ride with its new lightweight retro profile.

GM Custom from Delhi has once again mesmerized the audience with their latest build. They have successfully managed to convert a Hero Xtreme 150 commuter bike into the mighty Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R. The changes you see here are purely visual as no change has been made to the engine of the bike. Pure attention to detail can be spotted on this Hayabusa replica as the stock bike is equipped with twin shocks while this one is equipped with Hayabusa-style swingarm mated to a rear monoshock.

The front end of the motorcycle features dual disc brakes though it is not confirmed whether the second one is working or not. As the body hides much of the original stuff, GM Custom has used standard telescopic front forks for suspension duties. The body lines are exactly similar to the stock model of the Suzuki Hayabusa. The customizers have even equipped this typical Xtreme 150 with a Hayabusa-style instrument console and clip-on handlebars. The modified bike has been equipped with extra-wide tyres which are almost of the same size as seen on the Hayabusa GSX1300R.

Mechanically, the stock model of the Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a 1340cc, fuel-injected, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 200 HP of maximum power at 9500 rpm and a peak torque of 155 Nm at 7200 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

On the other hand, the Hero Xtreme 150 is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder, carburetted, air-cooled engine that is good for a maximum power of 15.6 HP at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. For further queries and pricing details, you can contact GM Custom (Phone Number – 97167 81272).

Hero Honda Splendor, the most loved commuter of all time can be seen here in the cruiser guise by Full Throttle Customs (FTC). The modifier has worked extensively on the Splendor as no component other than the engine, alloy wheels, and the suspension looks similar to the stock motorcycle.

The fuel tank has been replaced with a peanut design tank while the seat now flows in a different design in comparison to the thin seat of the stock model. The alloy wheels feature matching pinstripes while the same shade can also be found on handlebar levers and the headlight casing.

The exposed frame of the motorcycle is compensated by the leather bag to some extent but still, the small engine casing is visible through the empty area. The side panels have been replaced with the custom FTC-branded panels while the rear now features a wide tyre and a different fender when compared to the standard version.

The stock model’s dual-pod console has been replaced with a single-pod chrome-finished instrument console while the turn indicators are now different with typical arrow signals in them. The front tyre stays the same as the stock model of the Spendor and thus, the plain pattern comes into action. The bike also retains the front and rear suspension components.

The motorcycle is powered by a 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, producing maximum power of 8.2HP @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.05Nm @ 5000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The 109kg motorcycle seems to lose some weight here as the front fender of this modified Splendor has been chopped. According to Full Throttle Customs, the approximate modification cost of this Hero Honda Splendor is INR 60,000. You can contact the modifier for further details and inquiries.

BS6 Hero Splendor iSmart Price Increased: According to recent reports, the price tag of the BS6-compliant model of the Splendor iSmart has been increased by a total of INR 2200. It is one of the first motorcycles from the brand that was launched with a BS6-compliant engine back in November 2019. With the onset of the BS6 emission norms from April 1, 2020, Hero has surprisingly increased the price of the motorcycle.

The brand has introduced the iSmart variant of the Hero Splendor with premium bits that differentiate it from the standard Splendor variant available in the Indian markets. The increase of INR 2200 on its official price tag concludes to a total of 3.4% though, considering the difference between the BS4 price tag and the new BS6 price tag, the motorcycle is costly by almost INR 10,000 (17%).

  • New Price – 67,100

To meet the BS6 emission norms, the brand has replaced the 110cc engine on the BS4 model with a 113cc fuel-injected engine with i3s technology that is now capable of offering maximum power of 9 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 9.89 Nm @ 5500 rpm. The power output of the updated motorcycle has been reduced a little while the torque figure has been improved.

The BS6 Hero Splendor iSmart is available to the customers in three colour schemes namely Red, Grey and Blue. The addition of a greener engine has resulted in 88% reduction in the NOx emissions. The commuter bike has a seat height of 799mm while the wheelbase stands at 1270mm. The motorcycle gets a disc brake at the front while the rear features a drum brake unit. The suspension duties are handled by conventional forks at the front and a twin shock absorber at the rear.

Building a Suzuki Hayabusa replica is one serious job and GM Custom from Delhi show us how perfectly they can do it. Believe us or not, the motorcycle featured here is a Suzuki Hayabusa-Inspired Hero Karizma ZMR.

The custom-made bike even has the same instrument console as that of the stock model of the Hayabusa GSX1300R. The body kit from GM Custom includes full-body fairing, front and rear lights, wide tyres, and almost everything one can expect on a stock model of the Hayabusa.

Equipped with the same disc brakes as that of the Hero Karizma ZMR actually reveals the identity of this modified motorcycle as the actual model of the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R has huge disc brakes that cover almost the entire alloy wheel. Still, the deal seems mouth-watering as one gets the closest possible replica of the Hayabusa for a fraction of its price.

Hero Karizma Modified
Hero Karizma Modified to Look Like a Suzuki Hayabusa

In terms of the technical specifications, the Hero Karizma ZMR is powered by a 223cc, oil-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that is capable to generate 20HP of maximum power and 19.7Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

In comparison, the Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a massive 1340cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing a maximum power of 200HP and a peak torque of 155Nm. The sports tourer weighs 268kgs, making it quite heavy when compared to the rest of the superbikes with a litre-class engine and around 200kg of weight.

Suzuki Hayabusa claims a top speed of 312kmph, sprinting from 0-100kph in just 3 seconds and reaching 300kmph in around 25.4 seconds. Suzuki recently discontinued the Hayabusa in the Indian market as the brand didn’t upgrade the superbike to meet the mandatory BS6 emission norms which came into effect on April 1, 2020.

Since every organization in the country is coming up with several relief measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic, Hero MotoCorp is one that has donated 60 first-responder mobile ambulances to the authorities in India. The custom-built ambulance kit has been equipped on Hero motorcycles above 150cc as an accessory.

The brand has devised the specially modified motorcycles to help the patients in the rural and remote areas in case of an emergency. The mobile ambulances have been equipped with a side cart which is capable of accommodating a patient and moving him/her to the nearest hospital. The brand has equipped the first responder ambulance with a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, oxygen cylinder as well as a siren.

The Hero MotoCorp-developed mobile ambulances will be distributed to the authorities across the country to help in the fight against the coronavirus. In addition to distributing 60 mobile ambulances across the country, the brand has also decided to donate masks, sanitizers, gloves as well as 100 ventilators to the hospital staff.

Apart from this, Hero MotoCorp has decided to donate 100 Crores to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to help fight the pandemic in the country. The brand is also doing its bit towards the poor by helping distribute meals to more than 15,000 stranded labourers and daily wage workers. The meals are also distributed among homeless families.

The brand has offered its support for multiple relief parameters in the country which makes it a trustworthy organization in India that stands tall in the time of crisis to help out the fellow citizens with everything it has.

In addition to this, the brand has also extended the warranty and free services for its motorcycles until June 30, 2020. All the two-wheeler owners whose free services and warranty of motorcycles were due between March 21 and April 30, 2020, have been offered an extension to get their vehicles serviced before June 30th 2020 as the nationwide lockdown has made it impossible for the customers to reach the service centres on the required dates.

2020 Hero Xtreme 200R to be Based on Xtreme 160R: The all-new Hero Xtreme 160R was initially unveiled at the ‘Hero World 2020’ event and was able to win the audience with splendid performance in the Xtreme Sports segment. The brand has not based the new 160R on its bigger sibling 200R when it comes to the design language though the overall styling is indeed inspired from the Hero Xtreme 1R concept that was unveiled back at the EICMA 2019.

The brand has officially listed the Hero Xtreme 160R on its official website. The motorcycle variant features a host of similarities to the 1R prototype showcased in Milan, Italy. The 160R has been offered a sharper profile with angular lines flowing all the way from the fuel tank to the rear of the motorcycle, adding to its sculpted outlook.

Powering the Xtreme 160R is a 160cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is BS6-compliant and capable of churning out a maximum power of 15HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 kmph in just 4.7 seconds while the kerb weight stands at 138 kg.

2020 Hero Xtreme 200R
2020 Hero Xtreme 200R to be Based on Xtreme 160R

The similar design language with a lightweight chassis, powerful performance as well as a quick acceleration can further act as the basis of the 2020 Hero Xtreme 200R. If the brand decides to bring in the 200R anytime soon, one can further expect the motorcycle to be inspired from its younger sibling while the 200cc engine will be capable of competing in the market against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

The brand has currently removed the Hero Xtreme 200R from its official website. Even though there is no official confirmation on the resurrection of the motorcycle in the coming days, one can expect it to be equipped with a BS6-compliant engine and borrow styling traits from the new Xtreme 160R.

Powering the present-gen Hero Xtreme 200R is a 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine that is good for 18.4HP of power and a peak torque of 17.1Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. The 2020 Hero Xtreme 200R is expected to feature altered performance figures with a greener engine though there has been no official confirmation received on its launch as of yet.

The 199.6cc, fuel-injected, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine on the motorcycle is now capable of offering maximum power of 17.8HP @ 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 16.4Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The power and torque values of the motorcycle have been decreased with the up-gradation to meet the BS6 emission norms and one can expect the BS6 XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S to offer the same performance values.

The motorcycle variants are further expected to get an increased kerb weight with the addition of an oil-cooler though the official specifications once revealed by the brand will put an end to all the speculations.

The brand is expected to reveal the price tag of the BS6 XPulse 200 at Hero MotoCorps’s official website while the price reveal will be considered as the official launch of the motorcycle as the brand cannot plan a launch event due to the nationwide lockdown to curb the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The launch prices of the BS6 Hero Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S are also expected to be revealed after that in the coming days.
