KTM Duke 790 is one of the most eagerly awaited motorcycles in India and it was recently spotted in a parking lot in Bangalore. The images of the motorcycle that surfaced online at that time were not that clear, but the recently surfaced new set of leaked images gives a clear view of the motorcycle in all its glory. The recent reports suggest the motorcycle to be launched in India on September 5, 2019, and as per one of the KTM dealers, the brand will be launching it at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 8.50 lakh.

The recently surfaced images show the India-spec motorcycle that includes the saree guard in addition to a crash guard mounted near the radiator. The motorcycle features a space for the number plate near the headlight while a large saree guard grille has been placed on the rear left side of the streetfighter.

Apart from these, the motorcycle retains the designing bits as seen on the international variant. The KTM Duke 790 features a huge TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity in addition to a complete LED lighting setup, inspired from the 1290 Super Duke R. The Duke 790 can be operated in four riding modes namely: Sport, Street, Rain, and Track.

Powering the motorcycle will be the newly developed 799cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled LC8c engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 105 HP at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 86 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by WP sourced 43mm inverted forks at the front while the rear gets a monoshock absorber.

The engine will be BS4-compliant while the brand plans on bringing only 100 units of the motorcycle in India in the first phase. The reports also suggest the localisation of Duke 790 in the future that will, in turn, make the motorcycle more affordable for the Indian audience.

The recent reports have brought out some good news for the KTM enthusiasts. The reports suggest that the brand is all set to focus on bringing out a 250cc variant of the KTM Adventure and it will be one of the most affordable variants of the adventure motorcycle series. The motorcycle is expected to be christened as KTM 250 Adventure while getting similar traits as that of its elder sibling 390 Adventure which is eagerly anticipated by the fans across the country.

Taking the styling cues from the KTM 390 Adventure, the upcoming 250cc motorcycle will feature the same premium bits though, the brand will be differentiating the two based on cost factors. As the name suggests, the brand will be equipping the KTM 250 Adventure with a 250cc engine. The front fascia of the motorcycle is highly expected to feature a halogen bulb-powered headlight in place of the LED unit. The brand is likely to take the same route they took with the styling of the 250 Duke in comparison to the 390 Duke.

In addition to this, the fully-coloured digital instrument panel seen on the 390 Adventure will be given a miss for its younger 250cc sibling. The reports also suggest that KTM will be replacing the Continental tyres used in 390 Adventure with cheaper tyres for the 250cc variant though the front and rear wheel specifications will remain as that of the 390 Adventure.

The motorcycle is expected to get the same engine specifications as that of KTM 250 Duke though the brand will be launching the machine with a BS6-compliant engine that might tweak the power and torque figures. The BS4-compliant engine of the KTM 250 Duke, for instance, generates a total power of 30HP and 24Nm of maximum torque.

As per the latest buzz, the KTM 250 Adventure will be officially showcased at the upcoming EICMA 2019 along with the KTM 390 Adventure. The brand will be launching the latter before the end of 2019 while the 250 Adventure is expected to launch in India next year. We expect the 390 Adventure to be priced around INR 3 lakh while the affordable 250cc sibling will get a lesser though competitive price tag.

According to the recent buzz, KTM is working on introducing an all-new 890 Duke in its naked motorcycle portfolio. Since the 790 Duke is equipped with a Euro 5 engine, the lesser power generation is affecting the popularity of the motorcycle brand ever since the introduction of the more powerful Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821, and Triumph Street Triple RS. To stay ahead in the game, KTM plans on revealing the 890 Duke with more power and a better power-to-weight ratio.

With the increase in the engine displacement, the KTM 890 Duke will further offer 15HP-20HP more power when compared to the 105HP generated by the Duke 790. One can expect the 890cc machine to compete with the likes of Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple RS and the Ducati Monster 821 which currently offers a maximum power of 125HP, 123HP, and 109HP respectively.

In addition to this, the rumoured motorcycle will be equipped with higher-spec Brembo brake callipers at either end. Apart from these, the motorcycle is expected to retain the mechanical traits of its 790 sibling which includes the addition of cornering ABS, traction control, quick shifter as well as three riding modes.

The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer is expected to unveil the prototype of the 890 Duke at the upcoming EICMA 2019 while one can expect the production-spec variant of the motorcycle to launch by mid-2020. The brand is also expected to add a 500cc parallel-twin engine to its portfolio in the coming months though, no official confirmation has been made on the same. As far as the launch of 790 Duke is concerned, the streetfighter was recently spotted in India and it is expected to launch on September 5, 2019.

KTM RC 200 comes with one of the most aerodynamically-effective designs in its segment. RC 200 passed the emission norms without using a big and heavy exhaust, making it the only product in its class to carry an underbelly exhaust. This typical example by Dhana Stickers (DS Design) narrates a totally different story and leaves the stock Black/Orange theme for an even attractive White and Blue shade. Although, Blue has been used only on the alloy wheels and the Orange frame has been painted Black on this KTM RC 200.

White KTM RC 200 with Blue Alloy Wheels

The White wrap on the motorcycle covers its fuel tank, side panels, underbody panel and even right side of the headlight fairing. The two face look has been achieved by keeping the left side Black and getting a dual finish on the visor. The front fender is finished in White for better looks. DS Design has even used a dual shade rear seat cover for added appeal. The motorcycle looks beautiful with Blue RC and Akrapovic decals. The rear suspension remains White and looks best with the body’s shade.

KTM RC 200 White Wrap

KTM RC 200 comes with a 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine producing 25HP of power and 19.2 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and lacks the use of a slipper clutch. The front comes with a 300mm disc while rear uses a 230mm disc brake. The stock model of the bike now comes with a 1-channel ABS as standard. At present, the KTM RC 200 is priced at INR 1,90,000 (ex-showroom) and weighs 154 kg with a full fuel tank.

According to the recent reports, a high-performance Bajaj-KTM electric motorcycle is expected to be introduced in the Indian market in the near future. Both the brands are known to have a strong partnership for decades while bringing in a countless number of bikes in the automotive market. Their new alliance to work on an electric motorcycle will make them compete against the likes of other famous players in the electric motorcycle segment.

Since the Indian government has been hell-bent on promoting the use of electric bikes and other vehicles in India, Bajaj and KTM were highly likely to introduce an electric motorcycle in the future. Owing to 48% shares in the KTM brand, Bajaj’s plan in partnership with KTM to launch a new electric motorcycle will be different from its plan in the same segment. Both the parties may either agree to launch an electric motorcycle or an electric scooter while no official confirmation has been made on the same by either of them.

Apart from the few startups, Harley-Davidson is the brand that has made its intentions clear on the upcoming electric motorcycle range. The Harley-Davidson LiveWire has been in the news from the past few months while one can expect the brand to launch it in India shortly. Other brands taking the same initiative in India include Tork Motors, Emflux, Ather Energy and more.

One can expect the Bajaj-KTM electric motorcycle to get a claimed top speed of at least 150 kmph. If both the brands decide to work on individual products based on similar electric powertrain, we can expect the Bajaj’s version to be more affordable while the KTM version will be more powerful and will be priced on the higher side.

Presently, Bajaj Dominar 400 is the flagship motorcycle from the brand that is highly cherished among the Indian audience. One can expect the electric motorcycle based on the treaty between Bajaj and KTM to be based on the same flagship or an all-new product with higher power and torque figures in comparison to the Dominar 400. In addition to this, Bajaj is also planning on launching an electric scooter under the Urbanite moniker in the coming months.
