Superbly Modified Maruti Dzire by KitUp Automotive: Swift Dzire sedan shocked everyone with the larger than life upgrade for its third generation. KitUp Automotive took this charm to the next level with their Sunset Beam Pearl exterior finish along with 17-inch Momo wheels on this typical Maruti Dzire.

Both these upgrades were added to the already impressive front headlight setup with projector lights and use of a good amount of chrome by Maruti Suzuki. Fog lights were replaced with custom LED units. Every added visual element helped it feel more like a long lost cousin of Aston Martin with its highly inspired front three-quarter designing.

Superbly Modified Maruti Dzire with 2 Sunroofs

An even more interesting addition to this package is dual sunroofs with entire roof neatly finished in Piano Black on Maruti Dzire. Although it feels normal when one see the car from outside, the real fun starts for those who will get at least one ride in the back seat.

This adds some extended sense of spacious interiors while safety is definitely compromised up to some extent. The extra-wide nature of Maruti’s new Heartect platform based Dzire is neatly absorbed by those wide tyres and impressive wheels. Dzire already brings an impressive interior but KitUp Automotive has added more charm through premium leather seat covers and a leather headliner.

They have even enhanced the overall sound quality by adding better speakers with the stock SmartPlay infotainment system. Maruti Dzire is available with two engine and two gearbox options in India. This one is based on a petrol engine with an automatic gearbox for impressive ride quality.

Dzire comes with a 1197cc, 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 83.2 BHP at 6000 rpm and 115 Nm at 4000 rpm. This version claims 22 kmpl of mileage and brings features like rear-view camera, touchscreen navigation, LED front lights and automatic temperature control as standard in India.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga GT could be the next big thing for the Indian market. The model was recently spotted before the official unveiling, clearly showing how the addition of body panels can result in a sporty overall profile for the car. The powerful presence reached the higher eye-catching level as the car was spotted in Black as well as Red shade for the GT moniker. The premium black finish is further complemented by the tinted glass for all the windows (not allowed in India), red inserts at carefully planned points and unique front grille with black overall finish.

Suzuki Ertiga GT comes with front and rear bumper extensions, side skirts and a sporty rear spoiler that improves the profile from an everyday wagon to a sporty seven-seat car. The front of the car comes with projector headlights with chrome inserts and black fog lamp surrounds. The side profile looks great with the matching black alloy wheels with more spokes than any available pattern around the segment.

The official unveil for the car will take place on March 23, 2019, and sales will start in Indonesia before any other market. The new Ertiga will soon be available in a 6-seat and 7-seat variant, further getting the BS6-ready 1.5L diesel engine that Maruti plans to use in all their cars in the coming months. The discontinuation of the 1.3L diesel engine by Fiat in March 2020 has forced manufacturers to consider different options.

Many of them will even scrap the diesel variants for the entry-level cars in the country. However, the price difference in products with above 4-meter length and the compact segment will be stretched with the latter getting just petrol options. Ertiga GT could feature the 1.5L diesel for the first time and hence, the launch may not happen as fast as expected for the Indonesian market. The 1.5L petrol engine with 103 HP of maximum power will stay the same on every variant.

Toyota dealerships in Kenya are now selling Suzuki models along with their own products, taking the Suzuki-Toyota partnership to the next level in the countries where the action is possible. Suzuki and Toyota entered a joint venture where the brands will share architecture and product components to cut on the total cost of car development. The joint operations in India will focus on sharing platform between Baleno and an unnamed hatchback from Toyota. In Kenya, the product sharing seems like a smaller effect as Suzuki by Toyota Kenya counter in their dealership is displaying Jimny, Gypsy, Ciaz, Vitara (the bigger one) and even Alto for the buyers.

Toyota Dealerships Kenya
Toyota Dealerships Starts Selling Suzuki Cars in Kenya

The pricing for Kenya is quite high in comparison to the Indian pricing for almost all the products, most probably due to the high amount of their local taxation. The rebadging plan seems effective for brands like India where buyers will not consider watching the merger of two indirect rivals. Here, the vast footprint of Maruti Suzuki will benefit Toyota cars only while a number of buyers choosing a Suzuki car by visiting the nearest Toyota dealership will be next to zero. As the majority of Maruti Suzuki models sold here are below INR 10 lakh, the trend is opposite for Toyota as their majority of models sold fall in the price bracket of INR 15-30 lakh.

Even the Ciaz-rivalling Toyota Yaris has failed to impress buyers with sales figure less than 500 units in every month. Dubai-based firm CMC was earlier the only distributor for Suzuki cars in Kenya and now, the Toyota partnership may end their exclusive status regarding the brand in the country. The most affordable model from Suzuki, Alto 800, costs approx INR 6.10 lakh (direct conversion into the Indian currency) in Kenya. The retail lineup consists of the much-debated Jimny and Vitara GL in their market.

2019 Maruti WagonR CNG has been launched in India for INR 4.84 lakh. The car rivals none other than the CNG variant of Hyundai Santro, leaving fans with an option to consider more headroom and spacious feel in the boxy yet redesigned version of the popular WagonR. The brand has tried hard to remove the sharp boxy bits and the new design comes with smooth edges over the sharp lines of the last version. The optional variant for the LXi-based WagonR CNG is priced INR 5,000 higher than the standard version. The base variant of the CNG-equipped car comes with ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system and a driver-side airbag.

The INR 5000 worth price jump brings passenger airbag to the package. Seat belt reminder stays standard on all the variants. The CNG-powered version comes with 33.54 km/kg of mileage and offers central locking, air conditioner, front power windows and 13-inch steel wheels as standard. The car is good for 68 HP and 90 Nm on the petrol power while CNG filters down the output to 59 HP and 78 Nm. Still, the values are better than most cars with smaller than the litre-class engine. The mileage value and lower cost of the fuel make the WagonR an even more attractive option for those who drive long distances every day.

The CNG variant of Santro costs more as it is based on the middle-spec variants while Maruti offers the same on the base version only. It seems like their first customer target is cab operators as offering all basic needs and CNG for a low price will attract more commercial use buyers than those who need a car for an average daily commute. The price difference between the regular base variant and CNG-equipped WagonR is INR 65,000. The car is also available with 83 HP, 1.2L petrol motor for those who need the top or middle-spec variant for personal use.

Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has been officially discontinued in India. The brand has informed all the dealerships to stop accepting bookings for the car. The most affordable utility vehicle to come standard with all-wheel-drive function, Gypsy is the most reliable option to consider rough road riding in India. Even the Indian Army praises the machine for its easy to use attitude. The reason for discontinuation is the lack of ABS and airbags from the car. It may not be an easy task as both the features require mechanical upgrades, especially considering that airbags will need a new dashboard design on the car. Presently, Gypsy comes without sophisticated electronic equipment.

Maruti Suzuki Gypsy

Even the steering assembly is manual on the Gypsy. The current generation cars are available with power steering and loads of creature comforts that Gypsy can never include under the present day model. However, the modern Jimny is based on an updated platform with all options as standard. The same could have raised the Maruti benchmark by one level. Also, the undisputed Mahindra Thar could have got a real rival through Jimny. The brand has denied reports of bringing Jimny to India, leaving a void that will force buyers to raise the budget and go for either Gurkha or the Thar.

The front windscreen on the Gypsy is foldable while canvas top can be removed anytime for getting full nature contact. Buyers can also consider a plastic hardtop option for a small price hike. The higher ground clearance of 210mm, along with reliable 1298cc engine helps the driver take on any weather and road condition with ease. The engine is good for 82hp of maximum power and 103 Nm of torque. It weighs just 985 kg and started at INR 6.25 lakh for the soft top version. Adding INR 15,000 could have earlier got your hands on the hardtop version.

Suzuki Solio was recently showcased at the 2019 Future Mobility Show in India. For those who are unaware of this name, this MPV styled wagon is presently retailed in the Japanese market. Maruti Suzuki is expected to bring the hybrid Solio in India in the coming months to take on the best possible spot in the segment.

Suzuki Solio
Suzuki Solio Showcased at 2019 Future Mobility Show in India

They could have even considered 2018 Wagon R from the Japanese market but that design would feel overdone among other cars of India. The WagonR is going good in India and now features a better configuration than the old version. Solio has an Omni style sliding rear door and much advanced floating roof design to compensate for that boxy feel. It will bring bigger tires and chrome loaded front fascia that Indians love more than anything else.

Skipping on the seven-seat product that was first shown at Auto Expo 2012, Maruti seems to raise the comfort quotient through extra interior space available in Solio. The roomy interior is further guaranteed by glass loaded side fascia that comes with the addition of two fixed glass areas, one before the first row seats (good for blind spot detection) and other after the passenger seat (good for airy interior feel).

Interior of Solio will comfortably seat four passengers with an abundance of legroom, headroom and shoulder room. For India, the rear seat will be altered to get a 3-seater design. It will share parts with existing products and thus, top spec fully loaded model will feature the SmartPlay system, LED lights and much more like other Maruti products.

The engine powering the hybrid Solio is the same 1.2L unit from the Swift, producing 91 HP and 118 Nm on this configuration. The car will be one of its kind product at present as automakers are either into the electric world or comfortable staying in the petrol-powered section.

Updated Maruti Ignis has been launched in India for INR 4.79 lakh. The car is available with roof rails for the Zeta and Alpha variants while all the variants are now available with safety additions like the reverse parking sensors, co-driver seat belt reminder, and high-speed alert system and dual airbags. Some other safety features include ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts and seat belt pre-tensioners. Maruti has kept the four variants alive for the entry-level Nexa model, offering AMT gearbox on the Delta, Zeta, and Alpha for ease of driving in the tough, traffic-stuffed city conditions.

The top-spec model with AMT gearbox is available for INR 7.14 lakh, bringing a huge gap between the pricing of Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Ignis. The 1.2L, four-cylinder petrol motor on the car is good for 83 HP at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. The standard gearbox stays 5-speed manual on all four variants. The 2435mm of compact wheelbase and 3700mm of overall length makes sure that quick city turns never become a reason of stress for the driver. Ignis can be bought in six single and three dual tone shades, rivalling none other than Mahindra KUV100 in its segment.

Updated Maruti Ignis Price List

  • Ignis Sigma – Rs 4.79 lakh
  •  Ignis Delta – Rs 5.40 lakh
  • Ignis Zeta – Rs 5.82 lakh

To enhance the design of IGNIS and give it a strong road presence, new roof rails are offered in Zeta and Alpha variants. Mahindra XUV300 vs Maruti Vitara Brezza (Quick Comparison): Mahindra XUV300 has been launched with an extra punch of luxury and power to the profile, raising the benchmark of compact SUVs in India through segment-first features like dual-zone climate control, heated mirrors, front parking sensors and more. The comparison here is clearly between the diesel engine variants as Brezza can only be had with the torque-loaded diesel option. The most powerful engine of its segment, 1.5L diesel on the XUV300 is good for 117 HP of power and 300 NM of torque.

The gearbox available with the same is just 6-speed manual while Brezza brings the comfort of an automatic through the 5-speed AMT. As Maruti’s prime focus is on the mileage and looks of the car, XUV300 brings additional factors like luxury and practicality into action. The variants of XUV300 are highly loaded in comparison to the regular variants of Vitara Brezza. Here is a quick comparison between the new Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Suzuki Jimny Black Bison Edition from Wald International is an exact image of what fans expect the mini off-roader to look like in their possession. The basic Jimny profile went missing with this update, flaunting massive bonnet additions and tire treads for the Bravehearts. The car comes finished with dark base shade and additions include Red inserts around the front bumper and alloy wheels. The front comes with custom Wald-designed bumper with LED daytime running lights, vertical slat grill, round projector headlamps, and metallic bash plate. The side fenders are extended to bring those off-road tires under the covered section of Jimny.

The car comes with roof-mounted LED lights, bonnet scoops, rear custom bumper and unique tire mount with a body coloured cover with it. Jimny Black Bison Edition is nothing short of any off-road capability as the tight wheelbase and high ground clearance favours the mini off-roader at all occasions. Suzuki Jimny is limited to just certain markets and most probably, the brand will never make a model huge enough to pass the needs of markets like the US where size (both engine and body) matters a lot more due to the abundance of space on their highways.

The stock version of Suzuki Jimny measures 3570mm in length, 1600mm in width and 1705mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2250mm while the ground clearance is quite healthy at 190mm. The smart compact car can be had with two different engines in the international market. Jimny Black Bison Edition is one among the endless number of modifications for the car, with many brands making Range Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Class based examples from the car. Suzuki has a history of successful lightweight products with four-wheel drive as an option as Gypsy was one of them for the Indian market. The launch plans for Jimny in India are not yet official.

Maruti Vitara Brezza is an amazing product at INR 7,67,120 (ex-showroom Delhi). The diesel-only compact SUV was launched to rival Ford EcoSport and that seems pretty visible from the sales chart. Vitara Brezza soon grew into something more than an EcoSport rival and started fetching five-digit sales for the company. The changing preference of customers from bigger SUVs to compact (sub-4-meter) further helped Maruti gain a considerable chunk from this segment. Ever wondered why everyone is booking one? Here are 5 solid reasons to buy Maruti Vitara Brezza in India.

5 Reasons to Buy Maruti Vitara Brezza

1) Impressive Pricing: Maruti Vitara Brezza is placed at a point where buyers usually consider a hatchback. Once they sit on the high placed seat of Brezza and see the majestic view ahead, getting back to their selected hatchback becomes very difficult. A decently loaded VDi model is priced at INR 8,19,120 and most buyers won’t get the same satisfaction from any other car in this segment.

2) Enchanting Looks: While most Maruti cars are not desired for their looks, few like Ciaz and Vitara Brezza have this strong point in their character. Brezza comes with a unique front grill, impressive alloy wheels and floating roof design for the best experience one could get from the compact SUV segment. Vitara Brezza turns heads with its dual tone shade options, often getting a wow expression from people when turning around in front of them.

3) Safety First: Vitara Brezza brings rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, ISOFIX (Child Seat Restraint System), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) as standard on all variants. Suzuki TECT body comes with higher stability for improved crash absorption and helps the car score 4-star Global NCAP rating (Source). Front seat belts are offered with pretensioners and force limiter to keep passengers as close to the seat as possible.

4) Spacious Interior: Apart from its practical features like 60:40 seat split and armrest in all rows, Maruti Vitara Brezza comes with enough space to carry 5 passengers with utmost ease. Enough headroom, legroom and shoulder room helps passengers beat fatigue during long rides. Customers get the SmartPlay infotainment system, automatic temperature control, push-start button and loads of other interior features. In fact, Maruti kept the interior all Black to add much more sporty bit than dual tone interiors.

5) Excellent Mileage: Vitara Brezza’s 1248cc, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine is good for 90 HP at 4000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. Maruti claims 24.3 kmpl of impressive mileage on the car, resulting in the same cost of ownership that one could have with the same length hatchback. The huge 48-litre fuel tank further makes the owner proud with least required refills than other cars of this segment.
