Steelbird Ignyte helmet brand claims to have launched the first made-in-India helmet with ECE 22.06 homologation. The IGN-7 ECE 22.06 helmet also meets DOT FMVSS No. 218 and BIS safety standards. It makes IGN-7 the only India-made helmet with triple homologation.
ECE stands for Economic Commission for Europe, and it is the European safety standard. DOT certification is owned by the United States. Whereas BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) is the safety standard used in India.
The IGN-7 meets all these standards indicating that it has undergone extensive safety testing. The helmet comes in three sizes: M, L, and XL, and it can be ordered in either monochrome or with decals. The IGN-7 starts at a price of Rs 6,199.
This Ignyte helmet features the NACA air-flow system. It allows for efficient air channelling through the interiors. The shell is made of 9-part EPS with protection in up to 18 impact points. An ECE-certified visor with a Pinlock 70 anti-fog lens rounds out the quality package.
The company also claims that the interiors of the helmet are made of super soft fabric for long-lasting comfort. The iGN-7 has a double D-ring fastener, a nose protector, a high-frequency Thermo foam wind deflector, and a sliding sun shield.
