New Hyundai Grand Creta SUV Official Photos and Quick Details

Hyundai, the Korean automaker, has recently debuted its Grand Creta 7-seater SUV in the South African car market. Interestingly, the brand launched the car in India with the name Alcazar in 2021 and has now sent it to Africa after renaming it. It is already being sold in Mexico as well. It has the same dimensions as the Alcazar and is available in South Africa in six and seven-seater variants.

The Hyundai Grand Creta 2022 is built on a modified version of the K2 architecture, which is also seen in the Creta and Kia Seltos. The platform has been updated to enable vehicles with larger wheelbases, such as the Kia Carens MPV. The three-row SUV borrows stylistic cues from its five-seater sibling, the Creta, but improves on it with some distinctive features.

The three-row SUV is available in two trim levels: Executive and Elite. Wireless phone charging, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a rearview camera, LED headlights, and new 17-inch alloys are included in the lowest model.

The Grand Creta Elite model level adds bigger 18-inch wheels, push-button start, a panoramic sunroof, parking sensors, and second-row fold-down trays. It also has a bigger 10.2-inch digital instrument dashboard and a driver’s seat that is electrically adjustable.

Coming to the technical specifications, the India-spec version of Hyundai Alcazar is available with two engine options: a 2.0L petrol engine (from Elantra) and a 1.5L diesel engine (from Creta). The petrol engine is good for a maximum power of 159HP and a peak torque of 191Nm, while the diesel engine is good for 115HP and 250Nm. Both the engine options are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission as optional.
