Kia India is preparing to launch the limited-edition Sonet X Line, which the automaker teased a few days ago. Sonet is nearing the end of its second year in the Indian market. We now have information on the exterior and interior updates for the upcoming model from our dealer sources. The Kia Sonet X Line will follow in the footsteps of the Seltos X Line, which debuted a year ago.
The exterior paint colour of the Sonet X Line, like the Seltos X Line, will be Matte Graphite (Grey). The grille will also have a knurled pattern in gloss black, and the front and rear skid plates will be piano black with dark metal accents.
The gloss black theme will also be carried over to the fog lamp garnishes and the outside wing mirrors and dark metal accents will be added to the doors.
Other major exterior changes include a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels, which will be finished in gloss black, and silver brake callipers, which are currently finished in red on standard GT models.
Sonet X Line will have a new dual-tone colour scheme and a new black headliner on the inside. A new orange contrast stitching and X Line logos will be added to the leatherette upholstery. Sonet X Line, like the Seltos X Line, will be based on the top-spec GTX+ trim and will thus include all of Sonet’s bells and whistles.
The GTX+ trim level includes the 120 horsepower, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and the 100 horsepower, 1.5-litre diesel engine (115 hp with automatic transmission). Both of these engines might be available on the Sonet X Line and the transmission options are also expected to be carried over, with the petrol receiving iMT and DCT and the diesel receiving manual and torque converter automatic.
