2022 KTM RC 200 Starts Arriving at Dealerships; Here is the First Look

KTM has recently launched the RC 200 bike in India with a price tag of Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom). The next-gen KTM RC 390 is also anticipated to launch in the next few days and bookings are already commenced for the motorcycle at the dealerships. Meanwhile, the RC 200 has already started arriving at the dealer showrooms, and a YouTube channel named Rolling Peace has posted a walkaround video of it.

In terms of appearance, the RC 200 has redesigned LED headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and integrated indicators. It also gets a redesigned two-piece front fender that protects both the radiator and the engine, folding mirrors for a wider viewing range, better aerodynamics, clip-on handlebars, and two dual-tone colour options: White with Orange Highlight and Black with Orange Highlight.

The KTM RC 200 now has a new LCD instrument console, which is also seen on the KTM 250 Adventure. This console has a blue backlit display, as opposed to the orange backlit digital console found on the previous generation. The 2022 KTM RC 200 has a new ultralight structure that reduces the kerb weight by 1.5 kg over its predecessor. The trellis frame and bolt-on subframe offer greater speed stability and rider confidence.

When it comes to mechanical specifications, the RC 200 uses the same previous-gen 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. However, the engine has been improved to provide greater performance, acceleration, and cooling. The engine produces 25.8 hp and 19.5 Nm of torque. It gets carbon-coated cam levers, which reduce friction while increasing power.

A nozzle sprays over the head of the piston to cool it, resulting in longer life and smoother acceleration. KTM has also increased the size of the airbox on the new RC 200 by 40%, resulting in more responsive throttle response. Deliveries of the motorcycle are likely to start soon.
