New spy images have surfaced again of the 2023 KTM 390 Duke test mule. These spy shots have confirmed the previous guesses about the bike. It confirms many new changes that were seen in previous sightings.
The engine seems to have been changed as it is covered in the spy shot. And the rerouted exhaust system also suggests external, internal and peripheral changes. Intake routing also seems different, making it the most comprehensive change to the engine.
Test mule sports a larger radiator with a twin fan setup. The new Duke may produce more power through increased displacement. The extra fan could be to improve cooling on the current engine.
The bodywork shrouds the frame of the upcoming next-gen Duke. But it looks like the existing frame on the current Duke. The revised swingarm seems to have been redesigned.
The 2023 KTM Duke 390 will inherit the updated wheels and brake setup from the latest RC390. The suspension system seems to have been altered as well moving to an offset rear mono shock. The RC 390 received rebound damping adjustment for its mono shock, it may be added to the updated Duke as well.
The clearest change of all is the bodywork on the upcoming Duke. New tank extensions are sharper and longer than the current Duke. It has a new headlight and the seat is also redesigned to be roomier. The mirrors and the touch points are also altered in the KTM Duke 390.
The switchgear has a new red switch towards the top of the left switch cube. The updated KTM Duke may keep all the available features in the current model. We expect KTM to offer an IMU and a traction control system like the RC 390.
The test mule looks almost production ready in the spy images. KTM might make a debut soon with an updated moderate step-up from the current model.
