In the most recent round of Global NCAP safety tests, the Mahindra Scorpio-N received a 5-star rating for the adult occupant. It receives a 3-star rating in child occupant tests under these new safety test protocols.

In adult occupant protection tests, Mahindra’s SUV received a 5-star rating after scoring 29.25 points out of a possible 34. The Mahindra Scorpio-head N’s and neck protection for the driver and passenger was rated as good by testers. But chest protection for the driver and passenger is shown to be marginal.

The Scorpio-N performed well in the side impact test with a deformable barrier, scoring 16 points out of a possible 17. The Mahindra SUV received an ‘OK’ rating for side pole impact tests, but the occupants’ chest region received a ‘weak’ rating.

GNCAP also stated that the Scorpio-bodyshell N’s and footwell area were stable and capable of withstanding extra loadings.

The Scorpio-N received a 3-star rating after scoring 28.93 points out of 49 in the child occupant protection tests. This includes a CRS (child restraint system) installation score of 4.93 out of 12 and a max dynamic score of 24.
