2022 Maruti Ertiga and XL6 Spotted Testing; Launch Expected Next Year

Maruti is currently working on a slew of new cars to add to its current portfolio in the country, and the Ertiga and XL6 Facelift are among them. We recently spotted the test mules for both cars, and they are both camouflaged. However, the XL6 is heavily disguised while the Ertiga is less camouflaged as compared to the XL6. Both models are gearing up to hit the Indian roads with mild tweaks.

Looking at the XL6 spy shots, the upcoming car is anticipated to come with a revised headlamp and taillamps, new bumpers, and a redesigned front grille. The 7-seater and 6-seater configurations might be offered in the updated XL6. And most recently, we saw the interior images of Brezza and Baleno. Hence, we can expect the same or more changes to the XL6’s interior as well. A semi-digital instrument console, a new infotainment system, and a new steering wheel are likely to be offered.

The forthcoming Ertiga might come with mild aesthetic alterations. The front grille is expected to get a new design like the new Baleno. The facelifted Ertiga test mule sports dual pod headlamps, fog lamps, LED taillights and the same set of alloy wheels that are available on the existing model. Both cars are expected to have the same powertrain, but Maruti may introduce a new 6-speed automatic transmission in the facelift models.

The MPVs are likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology. Moreover, this powerplant is capable of generating 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque. It is also worth noting that there is no diesel engine option offered because the company is currently focusing on petrol engines only. Maruti has not announced the launch date yet, but we are expecting both models to enter the Indian market in 2022.
