The Maruti Suzuki Swift has remained the most popular hatch in the country since its inception in 2005. Throughout the years, the car went through various updates and proved to be the breadwinner for Maruti Suzuki in the country.
Recently, the 4th-gen Suzuki Swift was spotted somewhere around the globe. However, the test mule was completely camouflaged. Still, one can have the idea that this spotted model looks identical to the one in the Indian market.
However, the hatch looks bigger in dimensions and resembles any compact SUV. It seems like the upcoming Swift could have a body measured at 4 meters, and the manufacturer can do this to offer more space in the car and give it a better road presence. Also, we are able to see the matte black alloys on the test mule that are similar to the second Swift sold in India. The front fascia also appears to have a larger grille and a clamshell bonnet.
Moreover, the headlight design also looks like the second-gen model. While the floating roof design and basic contour of the rear appear to have carried over from the previous generation, the rear door handles are now in their traditional location. The wheels are anticipated to be 17-inches and clothed in broad 215-section low-profile tyre units. Besides these distinctions, all other styling appears to be the same as the existing model.
Suzuki just intends to keep the simple and sober design of the car. As for the powertrain, overseas, the new Suzuki Swift might be equipped with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology, as well as a powerful hybrid alternative. While in India, the 2024 or 2025 Maruti Swift might get a K15C engine for enhanced power. The next-gen hatch is most probably going to make its way to global markets next year and to our shores later than that.
