MG Motor Inaugurates First Public EV Charger in Gurugram

In collaboration with Electreefi and the Resident Welfare Association, MG Motor inaugurated the first-ever community charger in Gurugram at The WorldSpa condominiums, Sector 30. At the ceremony held on November 10, 2021, Sumit Ahuja, co-founder of Electreefi, inaugurated the community charger. It is a 7.4kW AC charger that charges the vehicle without any hassle. With the launch of residential community chargers, MG Motor India has taken a step forward in its comprehensive charging infrastructure. 

Also, to sanction an EV ecosystem in the country, the carmaker has partnered with Fortum and Tata Power to establish superfast charging stations. Other than this, the MG ZS EV comes with a free-of-cost AC (Alternate Current) fast-charger that can be installed at the customer’s home or office, a plug-and-charge cable aboard, and roadside assistance.

The new MG ZS EV comes with an electric engine type and a battery capacity of 44.5 kWh. It consists of a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates a max power of 140.8bhp and a max torque of 350Nm. The fast-charging technology fully charges it in 6–8 hours and gets it to 80 per cent charge in 50 minutes. The MG ZS EV is only available with an automatic transmission. In configurations, the MG ZS EV has dimensions of 4314mm in length, 1809mm in width, and 1620mm in height.

The MG EV’s updated model comes with the iSmart system with Hinglish voice commands and is available in two variants, Excite and Exclusive. This technology enables the vehicle to respond to over 35 Hinglish voice commands that operate various car functions, such as opening the panoramic sunroof by saying Khul Ja Sim Sim, turning on the radio by commanding FM Chalao, and adjusting the AC temperature controls if stated, Temperature Kum Kardo. The new MG ZS EV comes with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, and an integrated rear spoiler, to mention a few.
