Apple iPhone 12 Production Delayed: Amid Coronavirus pandemic, Apple’s problems seem to be increasing according to Ming-Chi Kuo. He revealed that the development of the iPhone 12 has been impacted due to the ongoing situation. Also, the recently launched iPhone SE 2nd Gen smartphone pre-orders have exceeded the market expectations that will leave a negative impact on the iPhone 11 sales.
The earlier reports revealed that Apple has remotely begun its qualification process for the upcoming iPhone 12 flagship smartphone series. It caused a month-long delay for the engineering verification process for the four iPhone 12 models. The delay has got further extended because of the problems with 5G mm-Wave testing labs as they are closed.
Two models under the Apple iPhone 12 series, 6.1-inch and 5.4-inch, are likely to enter the production in September but the more complicated 6.7-inch model will enter the mass production only in October. The official announcement of all the models of iPhone 12 is expected to happen together.
Coming to the recently launched iPhone SE 2 smartphone, the pre-order numbers have exceeded the expectations, though it was not predicted to happen considering the current market scenario. According to the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the brand will sell around 12-14 million units of iPhone SE 2 in the second quarter of 2020 which will have a huge impact on the sales of the iPhone 11 series.
Comparing the two smartphones, customers will surely prefer the much affordable iPhone SE 2 rather than going for a more premium iPhone 11. Among all this, the rumoured iPhone SE Plus with a 5.5-inch display is also expected to get postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The smartphone was spotted in an iOS14 code leak and it was predicted to be announced in the first half of 2021. But it seems now that the announcement for the iPhone SE Plus will be pushed to the second half of 2021.
