Apple iPhone 13 Production Begins in India; Price Drop Expected

Apple has recently started production operations in the country at its Foxconn plant near Chennai. Meanwhile, in December last year, the brand started trial manufacturing the iPhone 13 in India. To jog your memory, the brand began its development activities in our country in 2017 with the assembling of the iPhone SE.

At present, the smartphone maker produces models like the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and the recently added iPhone 13 to them. With the local production of the iPhone 13, a price drop is also expected. However, there is no official word on this yet.

“We are excited to begin manufacturing iPhone 13with its beautiful design, advanced camera systems for stunning photos and videos, and the incredible performance of the A15 Bionic chipright here in India for our local customers,” Apple said at the event.

According to the tech giant, many of Apple’s Indian supplier facilities now use solar and wind energy to power their operations. All established iPhone final assembly supplier plants in India are UL Zero Garbage certified and do not create any waste that is transferred to landfills.

As per the sources, the brand intends to build more models in India and this move will strengthen its activities in our country and mark a shift from China to here. The Indian government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme might be the biggest inspiration for the brand to settle its plants here.

Apple launched its first online store in September 2020 and is now looking forward to opening its first company-owned outlet in Mumbai by August this year.
