According to recent reports, the prices of Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have witnessed a minor increase citing to the recent changes made to the Union Budget by the Indian government.
The government in the Union Budget for the year 2020-2021 has declared an increase in the customs duty rate on PCBA all the way to 20% from 10%. In addition to this, the import duty on chargers has been increased from 15% to 20% while the duties on other mobile components like display, microphone and more have been increased from 0% to 10%.
The iPhone 8, 8 Plus, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have seen an increase in the prices by up to 1.3% though iPhone 7, iPhone XR and the recently launched iPhone 11 have been an exception. The customers can now avail the highest-spec iPhone 11 Pro Max at a new price tag of INR 1,43,200, getting an increase of 0.91% from its earlier price tag of INR 1,41,900.
