Apple iPhone SE Officially Announced for $399
Apple has launched the much awaited iPhone SE internationally with a starting price of $399 for the 16 GB and $499 for the 64 GB variant. iPhone SE serves as the most performance oriented yet affordable iPhone ever launched. It would be available in India from April 2016 while there has been no hinting on the price bracket except the INR 39,000 figure for the smaller capacity version.
The best part comes out to be the 4 inch screen size and 113 grams of body weight for the new iPhone SE. It uses the same A9 chip as the iPhone 6S while the power packed performance is bundled inside a phone matching the size of an iPhone 5S. The resolution has also been kept the same at 1136×640 pixels while the 5 megapixel front camera from the 6S has been dropped for a front 1.2 megapixel facetime HD camera.
The rear camera is a 12 megapixel iSight unit for the rear and the phone uses the same fingerprint unit in the home button as iPhone 5S, supporting Apple pay. The A9 processor (Dual-core 1.84 GHz Twister) comes with 64 bit architecture while it also uses the M9 coprocessor for better overall performance. The graphic processor is PowerVR GT7600 (six-core graphics). RAM has not yet been officially revealed while most expected configuration would be 1 GB for the SE variant.
Dimensions of iPhone SE are 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm and it is offered in 4 color options namely Silver, Gold, Rose Gold and Space Grey. It is actually focused on first time buyers and would serve as the best unit for those who hesitated shifting to a big screen in the other Apple iPhone after 5S.
