Apple iPhone XS and XR to Get a Permanent Price Cut in India

Apple iPhone XS and XR to Get a Permanent Price Cut: Apple is all set to manufacture some of its iPhone X series smartphones in India which are expected to hit the shelves in August. The flagship Apple smartphones are far from the reach of the majority of Indian audience considering their exorbitant price tags thus, Apple has decided to come up with a solution.

According to the rumours, Foxconn, the Taiwanese Multinational company, will be manufacturing the iPhone XS and XR in India, leading to a notable price cut for both the iPhones. The local assembly of the iPhone series will allow the customers to avoid the import duties and taxes which will ultimately lead to a considerable decline in the prices.

Considering the fact that Apple iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and iPhone SE are already manufactured by Wistron in India, the brand might give a green flag to manufacture more of their iPhones in the country.

Rushabh Doshi, a research director at tech consultancy, Canalys commenting on the manufacturing of iPhone XR and XS in India stated: “Local production will give Apple the leeway to play with the margins of their distributors and indirectly price their phones lower”.

Apple iPhone is one of the most coveted smartphone series in India, cherished by millions of fans. Though, the premium pricing has always put them against the likes of brands like OnePlus and Samsung that offers almost similar features within an affordable price range. The local assembly of the Apple iPhone XS and XR in India can lead to a decline in their effective prices and make them more affordable to a wider Indian audience, automatically leading to an increase in their market share.
