Huawei Distributes Free Power Banks to People Queuing up at Apple Store in Singapore

Apple may provide you with a superior build quality and a premium phone but the one field that they lack dominance in is the battery capacity offered on the iPhone models, right from the iPhone 5. In an endeavour to make their phones slimmer, they have opted for smaller batteries and optimized the iOS in a way that it uses less power. However, this has not stopped Huawei from taking a jab at Apple for the low battery capacity on the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, having batteries with 2658 mAh and 3174 mAh capacities, respectively.

When people lined up in front of the Apple Stores in Singapore, Huawei saw a chance to take a jibe at the company, distributing power banks outside the Apple Store on Orchard Road, Singapore, along with a note telling the people that they would need it. “Here’s a power bank. You’ll need it. Courtesy of Huawei. These were the sentences written on the note that was provided along with the 10,000mAh power banks that were distributed by the representatives of Huawei wearing the official T-shirts. This was to show Apple that the Huawei phones are far superior when it comes to the battery lives.

People had a mixed response to the distribution of the power banks. While those who received the power banks graciously accepted them, there were others who posted on Facebook complaining that the Apple users were getting free Huawei products while Huawei users had to pay somewhere around $98 for the power bank.
