Escobar Fold 1 Smartphone Unveiled for $349 (INR 24,900)

Since foldable smartphones are slowing making their way to the top of most cherished smartphones list, a cheaper addition to the same catalogue is going to take all the others under its influence. Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria, the brother of the famous drug lord Pablo Escobar has recently launched a foldable smartphone by the name Escobar Fold 1 at a price tag of just $349 (INR 24,900 approximately). The smartphone has been equipped with a flexible screen that can be folded for the user’s ease.

The foldable smartphone has been initially launched by Roberto as a bid against Apple as well as other smartphones under the same category. For instance, the foldable smartphone offered by Huawei, Samsung and Motorola is 3 times the price of the Escobar Fold 1, making it one of the most-affordable foldable smartphones in the market that features a 7.8-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen when folded.

The all-new foldable smartphone runs on Android 9.0 Pie while is compatible with all the networks worldwide. The $349 variant of the Escobar Fold 1 further features 6GB RAM with an internal storage of 128GB while the customers can get an expanded 8GB RAM mated to 512GB storage for just $499 (INR 35,600 approx).

The foldable smartphone is powered by a 2.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 8-series processor with Adreno 640 GPU mounted on top. The brand has specifically designed the smartphone in the USA while the manufacturing has been carried out in Hong Kong. The Escobar Fold 1 is only limited to 1 lakh units for the first phase of production.

Commenting on the launch of debut foldable smartphone, Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria stated – “I have told many people that I would beat Apple and I will. I cut the networks and retailers, to sell to customers phones that can fold for only $349, phones which in stores cost thousands of dollars by Samsung and others. This is my goal, to beat Apple, and by doing it myself like I always have.”
