Huawei’s first 5G foldable smartphone, Mate X was introduced at an event in Barcelona, a month ago. The brand has officially announced the smartphone’s launch in India by the end of this year. Considering the fact that India has not yet received 5G, Huawei Mate X will be the first smartphone to be made available in the country. Once launched, the cellphone can be availed in Interstellar Blue colour. The smartphone was unveiled in Barcelona with a price tag of 2299 Euros (INR 1.80 lakh approx.) though there hasn’t been any confirmation on the launch date and exact price in India as of yet.
Exhibiting a falcon wing design, the smartphone gets 6.6-inch OLED screen at the front while featuring a 6.38-inch screen at the rear. Both the OLED screens open up to an 8-inch tablet with no bulge or stretch while unfolding or folding the smartphone. Powering the Huawei Mate X is a HUAWEI Kirin 980 processor with 720 MHz ARM Ali-G76MP10 GPU mounted on it and the smartphone is powered by a 4500 mAh battery with 55W SuperCharge.
The smartphone runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1.1 and gets 8GB of RAM with 512 GB of internal storage which can be expanded via an NM card. The Huawei Mate X features a side mounted fingerprint sensor and gets a triple 40MP+16MP+8MP rear camera set up. Customers can use the back panel for taking the selfies.
