HMD Global has launched the Nokia 2.3 in India, which is the successor of its budget smartphone Nokia 2.2. The mobile phone was earlier introduced in Egypt last month and it comes featured with a 6.2-inch HD+ screen. The Nokia 2.3 is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 12nm SoC with 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with 2 years of Android and 3 years of security updates.
For optics, the Nokia 2.3 gets a dual rear camera setup. It has a 13MP rear camera with AI low light feature and HDR, and a secondary 2MP depth-sensing camera for portrait modes. The additional feature in the camera is of ‘Recommended Shot’ which automatically captures alternate images before and after the shutter button is pressed plus the camera app also suggests the best shot. At the front, it has a 5MP selfie camera that supports Face Unlock.
This latest budget smartphone by Nokia does not have a fingerprint sensor though it comes with a Face Unlock feature. In addition to this, the phone has a dedicated Google Assistant Button, a dual SIM slot and a microSD slot. The Nokia 2.3 is available in 3 colour options: Cyan Green, Sand, and Charcoal.
It is available in India with a price tag of INR 8,199 and will go on sale from December 27th from nokia.com and authorised retail stores like Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, and MyG outlets across the country. The brand is also offering a one-year replacement guarantee that covers hardware detects, along with a 6-month warranty on the accessories.
