ZTE has a subsidiary known as Nubia, which has announced the latest phone in the Z-series in China. The flagship device is known as the Nubia Z18, and it boasts a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.8%. It has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The phone draws its power from the Snapdragon 845 chipset and options for a 6GB+64GB or 8GB+128GB RAM+internal storage configurations. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Nubia UI 6.0 skin on top of it.
There is a dual rear camera setup on the Nubia Z18, with a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 24-megapixel secondary camera. It has AI scene recognition technology, and the secondary camera supports depth perception for portrait shots. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera that has support for Face Unlock, scanning 106 facial points to recognize the face. On the rear, there is Gorilla Glass protection and a fingerprint sensor. The phone packs a 3450mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.
There are two colour options available on the Nubia Z18, Midnight Black and Nebula Red. The price of the lower spec phone is 2799 Yuan while the higher spec phone costs 3299 Yuan in China. There is a limited edition of the phone available as well, known as van Gogh’s Starry Night Collector’s Edition, which has been priced at 3599 Yuan. The phone is set to go on sale in China on September 11.
