The OnePlus Nord 2 5G was released in July as the company's successor to the successful mid-range device, the OnePlus Nord. The new OnePlus phone apparently burst at least twice in the three months after its release. In one case, OnePlus even sent a legal notice to the owner of a OnePlus Nord 2 5G phone who claimed it exploded. Separately, in September, a Kerala-based software engineer's OnePlus Nord 2 5G charger burst inside a power socket. According to OnePlus, this was caused by an unstable power supply.
