OnePlus Nord 2 5G Reportedly Explodes Causing Severe Burns to the Owner

A OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone has reportedly exploded in India once again. The latest incident was reported on Twitter, along with some photographs indicating significant damage to the owner. Although OnePlus has not yet revealed any information about the explosion, the user has stated that the brand has reached out to learn more about the incident. This is not the first time the OnePlus Nord 2 5G has been said to have exploded. Shared circumstances have occurred in the past as well.

Suhit Sharma, a Twitter user, provided photographs of a totally charred and melted OnePlus Nord 2, as well as images of the owner’s burnt-up denim and the horrible injust on his thigh. The issue was first noticed on Twitter on Wednesday, November 3. Shortly after the original tweet, the OnePlus Support team requested the user to contact them via direct message on Twitter to provide further details regarding the matter.

OnePlus, which has previously been accused of treating similar issues lightly, has released a statement in a familiar tone. The company stated that such situations are taken seriously and that the team has already contacted the user and is gathering information to conduct further investigation. On the other hand, Suhit Sharma again urged OnePlus to send someone to see the impacted user in the hospital in a response to his own tweet four hours later.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G was released in July as the company’s successor to the successful mid-range device, the OnePlus Nord. The new OnePlus phone apparently burst at least twice in the three months after its release. In one case, OnePlus even sent a legal notice to the owner of a OnePlus Nord 2 5G phone who claimed it exploded. Separately, in September, a Kerala-based software engineer’s OnePlus Nord 2 5G charger burst inside a power socket. According to OnePlus, this was caused by an unstable power supply.
