As we reported earlier, a OnePlus Nord 2 5G exploded a week ago and caused severe burns to the user’s thigh. A Twitter user named Suhit Sharma posted a Tweet by attaching the pictures of the hospitalised guy and urging OnePlus to take serious action.
After some time, the OnePlus support team replied to the Tweet and asked Suhit Sharma to share the detailed information through a direct message. According to a recent report by NDTV, the brand has now reimbursed all of the user’s medical expenses and has also issued a refund for the smartphone.
As per the sources, the company’s operational head is also in contact with the sufferer to provide support. However, OnePlus has not yet revealed any specifics about the situation. The individual who reported the event on Twitter has also not posted any updates about the reimbursement. He did, however, remark previously that the company is in “constant touch” and is working on the issue.
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G was released in July as the company’s successor to the successful mid-range device, the OnePlus Nord. The new OnePlus phone apparently burst at least twice in the three months after its release. In one case, OnePlus even sent a legal notice to the owner of a OnePlus Nord 2 5G phone who claimed it exploded. Separately, in September, a Kerala-based software engineer’s OnePlus Nord 2 5G charger burst inside a power socket. According to OnePlus, this was caused by an unstable power supply.
