Sony Xperia Ace Officially Announced for 48,600 Yen (INR 31,000)
Sony has officially launched the all-new Xperia Ace smartphone in Japan. The phone features a 5-inch full HD+ display. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 630 14nm processor with Adreno 508 GPU. Xperia Ace runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system. The phone will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
Sony Xperia Ace gets a 12MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 1.25 μm, Exmor R sensor, Hybrid (OIS + EIS) image stabilization, AI scene detection and for the front, it gets an 8MP camera. The phone also gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Xperia Ace gets IPX5 and IPX8 ratings which make its body water and dust resistant. The phone weighs around 154g and comes equipped with a 2700mAH battery with fast charging.
Sony has provided Xperia Ace in three colours in Japan: Purple, Black and White, which are priced at 48,600 yen, and the phone will go on sale through Japanese operator NTT Docomo from June 1. The price at which the phone is being offered in Japan is approximately INR 31,000, after converting into the Indian currency.
Now if we look at the phone, it is highly overpriced in terms of features it will be offering to the buyers. There are a lot of other smartphones in the market which are offering features way ahead of what Sony is giving in the Xperia Ace. So, it would be quite difficult for this phone to compete with other smartphones in terms of the specifications and features.
