Xiaomi Congratulates OnePlus: Xiaomi has created a lot of buzzes by announcing its Flagship Killer 2.0 by congratulating OnePlus on the release of its latest flagship series that is OnePlus 7. Xiaomi made this announcement a day after the release of the OnePlus 7 series. The company created a post on its official forum and wrote:
Mi Fans! Flagships are not everyone’s cup of tea, solely because of the pricing. In a country like ours, where a sizeable population is tech-savvy, not everyone can afford a Flagship. Flagship Killers breathed a new life into the industry and made smartphones with great specs accessible to the masses. But it looks like many who promised to be Flagship Killers then have lost their path. They are choosing to “Never Settle” when it comes to pricing. At Xiaomi, we’ve believed in making innovation accessible to everyone by developing such Flagship Killers. As you will see again soon. Regards, Flagship Killer 2.0
In the teaser image, the K and 20 are highlighted in Red colour so it is clear that the upcoming smartphone would be called K20. Recently, the brand’s General Manager Lu Weibing explained that the ‘K’ in K20 stands for Killer. It is also hoped that K20 can come in more than one version and people are calling it K20 Pro, however, there is no confirmation about it from the company’s side.
The image that Xiaomi posted by writing Flagship Killer 2.0 also shows 855 written inside the K alphabet, which is most probably for the processor the phone will get. Currently, the latest flagship smartphones are sharing the Snapdragon 855 processor, Adreno 640 GPU, along with a 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX 586 lens, and a front camera of 16MP with Sony IMX 471 sensor.
Also by standard, the smartphones are being offered with 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. We can expect all these features in the upcoming Xiaomi’s Flagship Killer 2.0. The company has also officially confirmed that their upcoming phone will be sold under the Redmi series, and will be known as Redmi K20. So we can expect that in future the company can launch more phones under this series and it would be feasible to call it the ‘K’ series.
