Currently, the country is under a 21-day lockdown period but the number of cases is still increasing day by day. It seems like the lockdown will continue to stay after 21 days. At this time of crisis, many tech giants, celebrities, and even civilians are stepping up to fight against this disease.

Recently, Xiaomi India pledged INR 15 crores of help towards COVID-19 relief efforts. The MD of Xiaomi India, Mr Manu Kumar Jain, posted on twitter stating:

The brand has also requested its employees and partners to come forward and donate directly to PM’s relief fund and CM relief fund from their salaries. Xiaomi India has partnered with non-profit organization ‘GiveIndia’ to make 20,000 hygiene kits that will include sanitizers, soaps, and masks that will be made available to the families in need.

Moreover, the company is also working on donating lakhs of face masks and protective suits to hospitals across various states. They are also partnering with various NGOs to extend support to daily wage workers, migrants, and stray animals.

Due to the coronavirus, many upcoming events in India have been cancelled while a lot of companies are contributing to relief efforts.
