Xiaomi Redmi 8 Launched in India Starting @ INR 7999

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has officially launched the Redmi 8 smartphone with a starting price tag of INR 7999. It gets a 6.26-inch HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone comes powered by Snapdragon 439 12nm chipset with Adreno 505 GPU. The Xiaomi Redmi 8 is available with up to 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage. The smartphone gets an Aura mirror design with splash resistant coating.

For optics, the smartphone gets a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary rear camera with Sony IMX363 sensor that comes with AI scene detection for 33 scenes, and a 2MP secondary rear camera which has a depth sensor for portrait shots. At the front, it gets an 8MP selfie camera with AI selfies and portrait mode, as well as AI face unlock.

The all-new Xiaomi Redmi 8 gets a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It has a USB Type-C and it comes with a 10W charger in the box. The smartphone has a 3.5mm audio jack and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It gets a dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots. The Redmi 8 is available in three colour options – Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, and Onyx Black.

The 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage variant of the smartphone is available at INR 7999 while the 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage model is available for INR 8999. For the first 5 million or 50 lakh units, the 4GB RAM variant of the smartphone will be on sale for INR 7999 only. The Xiaomi Redmi 8 will be available on Flipkart, Mi.com starting from October 12th.
