The technical specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 8 have surfaced online. The Redmi 8 will be the successor to the previously launched Redmi 7 and 7A. The upcoming Redmi 8 smartphone has been recently certified by TENAA in China. The smartphone will come featured with a 6.26-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The phone will be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor.
Xiaomi Redmi 8 will be available with three different storage options. The 16GB internal storage model will be available with 2GB of RAM, the 3GB RAM model will be available with 32GB storage and the 4GB RAM model will be available with 64GB storage. The internal storage of the smartphone is also expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card. The phone will come with Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system with MIUI 10. The phone has got a dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) setup.
For optics, the Xiaomi Redmi 8 will get a 12MP rear camera with an LED flash and a secondary rear camera of 5MP. The front of the smartphone will come equipped with an 8MP selfie camera. The phone gets a fingerprint scanner and an infrared sensor.
The smartphone also gets a 3.5mm audio jack and an FM Radio. The dimensions of the smartphone are 156.3mm in length, 75.4mm in width, and 9.4mm in thickness. The weight of the Redmi 8 stands at 190 grams. The backup performance of the smartphone will be handled by a massive 5000mAh battery which is expected to comes with support for 10W fast-charging.
Well, if we talk about the design, the recent rendered image of the smartphone shows a display with a dot-notch in which the front camera will reside. The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is similar to its predecessor but the position of the cameras and the design of the smartphone looks different. There is a Redmi branding on the front, below the screen, and also on the back below the fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Redmi 8 smartphone in the coming days.
