Xiaomi’s all-new “Flagship Killer 2.0” smartphone, the Redmi K20 has been in the news for quite long. Now, the brand has announced its official launch in China on May 28 at an event in Beijing. According to the leaked spec sheet, the Redmi K20 will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It is now also confirmed that the smartphone will get a pop-up camera at the front.
As per the rumours, the brand will also be introducing the Redmi K20 Pro in addition to the standard model. The brand has also recently posted a teaser video showing a clear profile of the notch-less display of the smartphone in addition to the pop-up selfie camera, which according to the reports, has been tested 3,00,000 times.
The smartphone has been codenamed the “Demon King” while it still features a 3.5mm audio jack. The Redmi K20 is expected to run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie while featuring 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage. Apart from this variant, the smartphone is expected to be available in 2 more variants with different RAM and internal storage combinations.
The Flagship Killer 2.0 features an in-display fingerprint sensor while packs a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging. The smartphone gets a 6.39-inch OLED full HD+ notch-less display with a pixel resolution of 2340×1080 while features a 20MP pop-up front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Coming to the triple rear camera architecture, the new flagship smartphone gets a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, a secondary 13MP super-wide-angle sensor, and a tertiary 8MP telephoto lens. All thanks to the Snapdragon 855 processor, the smartphone has already appeared on AnTuTU with great scores, beating even the Samsung Galaxy S10.
According to the reports, the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will compete with the newly launched OnePlus 7 series though, the K20 series will get a rather lower price tag, justifying its “Flagship Killer 2.0” tag. Xiaomi’s India Vice President has confirmed the official launch of the Redmi K20 in India soon after its introduction in China.
