Hero Movie Bike (Custom KTM Duke 200) by Neev Motorcycles: Though South Indian movies usually defy the laws of Physics with their out of the context action sequences, the fans are still crazy for the fast and happening motorcycles or cars used for the stunts.

One such motorcycle that has been known to strike a chord with the audience is the modified KTM Duke 200 that was used in the Tamil action movie “Hero” starring Arjun Sarja, Sivakarthikeyan and Abhay Deol. The modified 200cc Duke was the courtesy of Neev Motorcycles, a Delhi-based customization shop that is known to customize wonders and has an interesting portfolio of customized machines based even on Royal Enfields.

According to the designer and founder of Neev Motorcycles, Navneet Suri, the team was specifically given instructions on how the customized motorcycle should look like for the movie. The plan was to customize a motorcycle that looks rough and unique while featuring a lot of unfinished metal detailing and welding. The designers wanted the motorcycle to offer a “college student creation” outlook which is complemented with a whole lot of quirks and imperfections.

The customizers spent 10 hours a day for a whole week on the creation of the modified KTM Duke 200 as it required changing the chassis altogether. The motorcycle that was actually used in the movie was the second iteration of what the designers had created as the movie makers had rejected the first one. Neev Motorcycles further curated 2 examples of the same machine within just 40 days though facing several mechanical and electronic issues on the way.

The front fascia of the motorcycle was shod with a twin LED headlight setup housed in a devil’s mask outlook. The fuel tank design of the motorcycle was designed with utmost perfection giving the whole “imperfect” look a new meaning. The overall scraped metal parts gives the desired look to the modified KTM Duke 200.

The motorcycle did a worthy job in the action sequences shot in Chennai and the team was rather satisfied with the work done by Neev Motorcycles. As far as the mechanical bits are concerned, the modifiers have not offered any information on the mechanical up-gradation of the engine while one can expect the modified bike to feature the similar 199.5cc engine as available with the stock machine.
