Old Yezdi Motorcycle Modified to Look Like the Jawa Perak Bobber

The iconic Jawa motorcycles were resurrected in India by Classic Legends back in 2018 and marking its first anniversary of rebirth in the Indian market, the brand launched the Jawa Perak motorcycle. A motorcycle enthusiast has tastefully modified his 34-year old Yezdi motorcycle into the Jawa Perak Bobber. The modified motorcycle was showcased by Manjunath PC at the India Bike Week 2019. The owner of the motorcycle rode his modified Yezdi from Mysore to Goa to attend the IBW.

Since both the Yezdi and Jawa motorcycles share the same DNA, the modified Yezdi does look quite compelling when it comes to featuring the modern-day Perak-style language. The modified bike is a 1987 Yezdi Deluxe while the conversion to the Jawa Perak Bobber cost the owner a total of INR 1.50 lakhs. The modified Yezdi motorcycle has been offered the same Perak-inspired single-seat saddle wrapped in brown leather while the overall grey paint scheme further adds to its appeal.

The two-stroke Yezdi engine on the motorcycle has been kept mechanically intact. Most of the components of the modified motorcycle have been manufactured locally and one cannot expect the same fresh look as the Jawa Perak Bobber though it’s close enough. The overall look of the modified Yezdi Deluxe matches with the styling of the Perak Bobber and there is no other unwanted modernisation offered to the motorcycle.

Powering the modified Yezdi motorcycle is the same old-school 344cc air-cooled two-stroke engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 14HP. The engine remains mated to a 4-speed transmission. On the other hand, the modern-day Jawa Perak features a 334cc liquid-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine that is good for a maximum power of 30.64HP and a peak torque of 32.74Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
