Saigon Maxspeed worked on a Yamaha R15 V3 and came with this MotoGP-spec motorcycle that adds improved performance parts to its existence. The first and most important addition is the bubble visor, improving the tuck-in area for the rider and resulting in a more aerodynamic experience for both professionals and amateur riders. The brake and clutch levers used here are adjustable while aerodynamic winglets further improve the stability on high speeds. The use of Akrapovic exhaust further helps the rider achieve higher performance out of the 155cc engine. The additional wind deflectors around the headlight section are unique for a lightweight motorcycle.
They have removed the rear view mirrors while bar end protectors were installed to keep the rider safe at all times. The rear assembly was removed for a custom tyre hugger and floating number plate. The tank comes with rugged knee support on the custom Yamaha R15 V3. The model is not India-specific and thus, the USD forks are available on the same as standard. The 155.1cc, single-cylinder engine on the bike is good for 19.3 HP at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
The same Akrapovic exhaust is used on the flagship BMW S1000RR, helping the lightweight motorcycle achieve more power than the stock 19.3 HP. Yamaha R15 V3 has no direct rival in India while the Indonesian market has Honda CBR150R as its rival. Yamaha offers USD front forks and aluminium rear footpeg holders on the motorcycle on the international variant while the Indian version is available with a different footpeg holder and standard front forks. The bike weighs around 142 kg and thus, leads the segment with an amazing power-to-weight ratio. The Yamaha R15 V3 ABS costs INR 1.40 lakh in India (ex-showroom).
