In addition to the MY2023 of the Pulsar NS200, Bajaj Auto has also launched the 2023 Pulsar NS160 in India. Like the NS200, the brand has also equipped the updated model of NS160 with USD front forks and a dual-channel ABS unit. It also receives lighter rims as well as a semi-digital console with a gear position indicator and Distance-To-Empty (DTE). The updated motorcycles have already begun to arrive at the showrooms.
Before the recent upgrade, the NS160 was available at Rs 1.25 lakh. With these new upgrades, the NS160 has now been priced at Rs 1.35 lakh, ex-showroom. The engine has been updated to meet the stricter BS6 Phase II emission standards. Aside from the USD front forks, the bike has not received any other major updates.
The updated Pulsar NS160 will have similar advantages over competitors such as Hero Xtreme 160R and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. But, there is still room for advancement in areas such as connectivity. The updated Pulsar NS motorcycles have a semi-digital instrument console. Users can expect improved ride dynamics with the NS160 after the addition of USD forks and dual-channel ABS.
In Brazil, Bajaj already offers USD forks with its NS motorcycles. The NS160 has 31mm USD forks in Brazil, which have been carried over to India. Apart from the USD front forks, only a few of the graphics have been updated with new colour schemes, like the Pulsar NS200.
Coming to the technical specifications, the engine remains the same as earlier. Even after the BS6 Phase II compliance, the output figures remain the same. The NS160 has a 160.3cc engine that comes with a 5-speed gearbox, and it generates a max power of 17.2 PS and a peak torque of 14.6 Nm.
