Pulsar NS lineup has always been one of the most sporty in its segments. Aggressive styling, and a presence in general have well captivated the Indian market. This lineup will be expanded by Bajaj through the availability of USD forks and dual channel ABS on the NS200 and NS160. The teasers on social media last week have led to the arrival of the first batch of these two motorcycles to dealer showrooms.
First, thanks to the Rash Gear YouTube channel we got our first set of live photos. They will be disappointed if they expected major design change. The new 2023 Pulsar NS appears identical to previous models, apart from the USD front forks. Only the NS200 gets a dual channel ABS update.
These Pulsars, with new USD front fork, look more muscular than ever. Now the thicker part of the forks is on top of the USD forks giving a larger clamping surface with the frame. This has a result of better clamping force and provides the frame a more coherent shape.
In Brazil, the NS200 features larger 33mm USD front forks, while the NS160 gets smaller 31mm USD forks. You can also expect a similar setup with Indian spec models.
Being 2023 though, we were hoping that Bajaj would bring in some new features in this update. This, however, does not seem to be true. The only thing that has been updated on the instrument cluster is to show the gear position.
The 160.3cc single cylinder engine from the Pulsar NS160 remains the same. With a 5 speed gearbox it produces 17.2 PS at 9000 RPM and 14.6 Nm of torque at 7250 RPM. The NS200 is powered by a 199.5 cc, liquid cooled engine. The top end power of 24.13 bhp comes at 9750 RPM and the top end torque of 18.74 Nm comes at 8000 RPM.
Expect both these motorcycles to launch in India very soon. Watch this space!
