The Bajaj Pulsar NS lineup has been one of the most sporty offerings in their respective segments. They have captivated the Indian market well with their aggressive styling and presence. Bajaj plans to expand the presence of this lineup by offering USD forks and dual-channel ABS on the NS200 and NS160. The first batch of these two motorcycles has begun to arrive at dealer showrooms after being teased on social media last week.
We now have our first set of live photos, thanks to the Rash Gear YouTube channel. Those who anticipated major design changes will be disappointed. Except for the USD front forks, the new 2023 Pulsar NS looks identical to previous models. The NS200 is the only model to receive a dual-channel ABS update.
With the new USD front forks, these Pulsars look even more muscular. The thicker part of the forks is now on top of the USD forks, providing a larger surface area to clamp with the frame. This improves clamping force and makes the frame more cohesive.
Bajaj offers larger 33mm USD front forks with the NS200 and smaller 31mm USD forks with the NS160 in Brazil. We can expect a similar setup with Indian spec models as well.
We hoped that since it is 2023, Bajaj would include some new features with this update. But this does not appear to be the case. Although the instrument cluster has been updated to show the gear position.
The 160.3cc single-cylinder engine from the Pulsar NS160 remains unchanged. It produces 17.2 PS at 9000 RPM and 14.6 Nm of torque at 7250 RPM when paired with a 5-speed gearbox. A 199.5 cc liquid-cooled engine powers the NS200. It produces a max power of 24.13 bhp at 9750 RPM and 18.74 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM.
Both these motorcycles are expected to launch in India very soon. Watch this space!
