The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has been updated for 2023 following the footsteps of the Continental GT 650. The update includes a new switchgear, an LED headlight, and alloy wheels. Prices begin at Rs 3.03 lakh and rise to Rs 3.31 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It represents a Rs 16,000 increase over the previous pricing.
Despite the lack of major updates, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has maintained its popularity over the years. But, not wanting to take any chances, Royal Enfield has brought the evergreen retro up to date for 2023.
The Interceptor borrows the Super Meteor’s LED headlight to replace its halogen reflector unit. The new aluminium switch cubes, have a neat retro design and feel rather premium.
The most significant change is the long-awaited introduction of alloy wheels. These are only available in two of the seven colour options: Barcelona Blue and Black Ray. Alloy wheels cannot be ordered in any other colour, even on the MiY configurator.
While the updated Continental gets new Vredestein Centuro ST tyres on its alloys, the Interceptor stays with Ceat tyres. The addition of a USB charging port on the left handlebar is the final new feature.
“The Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have received immense love all over the world,” said B. Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield. “We are confident that the new colours will give customers even more reasons to ride these motorcycles. And the new functional upgrades will contribute to a fun and enjoyable riding experience.”
