Recently, Bajaj Auto has been busy refreshing its Pulsar range. The sequence started with the introduction of the Pulsar N150 and N160, followed by updates to the NS160, NS200, and the classic Pulsar 150. The N250 received updates shortly after. We’ve just reported on a new Pulsar N160 featuring USD forks, and now, Bajaj is gearing up for what it describes as the “biggest ever Pulsar” launch scheduled for May 3rd, 2024.

Updates and Features of the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220

Before the upcoming major launch, the 2024 model year brings significant updates to the Pulsar 220, previously the “biggest ever Pulsar.” It now features a fully digital instrument cluster, similar to the one introduced with the 2024 Pulsar 150, replacing the old semi-digital cluster. This new cluster maintains simple functionalities like Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone integration and notification alerts, without the advanced navigation features found in the larger NS and N models.

New Design and Color Options

The 2024 Pulsar 220 also introduces a USB charging port conveniently located on the dashboard. Bajaj maintains its custom of updating the bike’s looks with fresh graphics. The latest color schemes for the Pulsar 220 include combinations of Black & Grey, Black & Blue, and Black & Red. There’s a nostalgic nod to the past with a mention of the once-offered Silver monotone, a color that would undoubtedly look stylish on the current model.

Engine and Specifications

Mechanically, the 2024 Pulsar 220 remains unchanged from its predecessor. It continues to be powered by the reliable 220cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, producing 20.11 bhp and 18.55 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle’s current components—such as the suspension, lighting, brakes, single-channel ABS, and tires—remain intact.

Legacy and Popularity

The Pulsar 220 holds a unique place in Indian motorcycling history, having been revitalized due to persistent popularity. It continues to perform well in the 200cc to 300cc segment, a feat that the newer Pulsar 250 twins (N250 and F250) have struggled to match. In addition to embodying Bajaj’s dedication to innovation this model serves a legacy of riders who value the fusion of traditional and modern characteristics.
