Hero MotoCorp is about to lift its game in the premium motorbike category. They are working on introducing a new line of motorcycles ranging in size from 200cc to 450cc.
One of them is most likely the new-generation Karizma. For many years, the Karizma was Hero’s flagship motorcycle, until it was withdrawn. Hero tried to resurrect the Karizma brand several times throughout the years but failed to match expectations.
Karizma has always been available as a pair. A semi-faired Karizma R with less power and a fully-faired Karizma ZMR with more power. The same strategy is expected this time around. Hero has two trademarks: Karizma XMR and Karizma XMR 210.
The Karizma XMR, with its bikini fairing, could be the less powerful offering. The Karizma XMR 210, with its liquid-cooled 210cc engine and 6-speed transmission, could be the faired option.
On the basis of the latest Karizma test mule spotted, it appears to be inspired by the Xtreme 200S. A closer look reveals a similar, but more stylized, fairing. Differences from the Xtreme 200S include LED turn indicators with warning light functions. And the fairing-mounted ORVMs rather than handlebar-mounted ORVMs.
Given that pricing was one of Karizma’s primary assets, it won’t need any new equipment to increase costs. The spy images show that the 2023 Hero Karizma does not use USD front forks, while LED lights and Bluetooth connectivity with navigation may be available. The new Karizma 210 is likely to cost between Rs 1.30 to Rs 1.60 lakh.
The 2024 Hero Karizma 210 has to mean something, and it’s very likely that it refers to its displacement. It could be Hero’s 200cc engine, bored to 210cc and coupled to a new 6-speed gearbox (rumoured). This configuration should produce a max output of roughly 25 horsepower and 30 Nm of peak torque.
