Honda has recently introduced the 2024 CBR600RR in the European market, marking the return of this Japanese supersport model after a period of hiatus. The design of the new CBR600RR incorporates elements from its predecessor bringing back the character of the older model while drawing inspiration from the latest CBR model in the liter-class category.
The 2024 Honda CBR600RR features sleek and aggressive bodywork embodying the essence of a true supersport motorcycle and it boasts a distinctive silhouette with low clip-ons, rear set footpegs, and a rider-friendly crouched riding position. Honda has retained the underseat exhaust system, reminiscent of the previous model. The bike is available in two striking paint schemes – Grand Pix Red and Matte Ballistic Black.
Powering the 2024 CBR600RR is a robust 599cc inline four-cylinder engine, delivering a power output of 119bhp and a torque of 63Nm and the engine is paired with a responsive six-speed gearbox, and a quick-shifter enhances the riding experience by allowing clutchless upshifts. The motorcycle comes equipped with a host of advanced electronics, including a fully digital TFT display, traction control, a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), five riding modes (including one custom mode), an anti-wheelie feature, and dual-channel ABS.
In terms of hardware, the 2024 Honda CBR600RR is equipped with fully adjustable Showa USD front forks and a mono-shock, providing optimal suspension performance. Braking duties are handled by twin 310mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc, mounted on 17-inch wheels fitted with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear Dunlop tyres.
The pricing for the new Honda CBR600RR is set at EUR 12,140, which translates to approximately Rs. 11.06 lakh excluding taxes. As of now, the bike is exclusively available in the international market. However, if Honda decides to launch the new CBR600RR in India, it will compete with the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
With the release of the 2024 Honda CBR600RR, the model makes a significant return combining traditional styling cues with contemporary features to satisfy the needs of supersport motorbike aficionados in the European market. The anticipation remains high for potential global releases including markets like India where it would create competition within the sportbike segment.
