Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R, entering the market with a starting price of Rs 11.09 lakh (ex-showroom). This release marks an evolution from its predecessor, discontinued due to stringent emission norms, with a modest increase of approximately Rs 60,000.
The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R exhibits a refreshed design, featuring a more aggressive aesthetic that aligns with the contemporary styling seen in Kawasaki Ninjas, reminiscent of the ZX-10R. Available in two striking colors—Metallic Graphite Grey and Lime Green—the motorcycle not only brings a visual update but also introduces significant technological enhancements.
Powering the 2024 model is a Euro-5/BS6 compliant 636cc inline-four engine, delivering a robust 128bhp and 69Nm of torque, and the engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox that incorporates a quick-shifter for seamless gear transitions. Noteworthy technological upgrades include the replacement of the previous LCD display with a modern TFT unit featuring Bluetooth connectivity and the inclusion of various ride modes further enhances the bike’s versatility and adaptability to different riding conditions.
The chassis boasts a perimeter frame, supported by adjustable Showa SFF-BP forks at the front and a link-type monoshock at the rear. The braking system comprises twin 310mm discs with radially mounted calipers at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear ensuring effective and responsive braking performance.
Despite the notable improvements, the pricing strategy for the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R remains commendable, maintaining affordability compared to its predecessor. Renowned for its user-friendly characteristics the Ninja ZX-6R continues to serve as an excellent option for riders making the transition from 400cc bikes to the realm of 1000cc-class motorcycles.
In the competitive landscape, the Ninja ZX-6R faces off against rivals like the Aprilia RS 660. Because it is more reasonably priced the Kawasaki model is nevertheless a viable choice for riders seeking a 600cc-class motorcycle that might be used as a stepping stone into the world of greater displacement bikes. In addition to maintaining its standing as a practical and affordable sportbike the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R further solidifies Kawasaki’s dedication to providing performance-focused motorbikes to the Indian market.
