The next-gen 2024 model of the KTM 390 Duke is currently under development. And the motorcycle in the sub-500cc roadster class has been spotted many times before. This time, an undisguised picture of this future roadster motorcycle taken from the inside of the facility exposes new information.
To begin with, the spy image depicts the new paint scheme of the next model. This motorbike was seen with a dual-tone paint job. It included white and orange graphics on the gasoline tank and a matte grey and glossy blue fuel tank. The updated chassis that the next-generation vehicle will get can also be seen in the spy photo. Besides these stylistic changes, the leaked image also shows the hardware of the upcoming model.
Like the most recent RC 390 and 390 Adventure, the front forks from WP will have compression and rebound adjustments. The rear will then utilise an adjustable, asymmetrical-mounted mono-shock. These may only be available on models with international specifications. The India-bound model will have non-adjustable units, exactly like the current 390-series motorcycles. The front disc brake’s new location on the right side of the wheel is another noticeable change.
In comparison to the current generation 390 series, the engine case and exhaust path are different. Although the specifics are not yet known, there may be a modest increase in displacement. The current generation model has a 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces a max power of 42.9 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37 Nm at 7,000 rpm. This powerplant is connected to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and quick-shifter.
The feature list will be updated and the new 390 Duke will gain more electronics. The forthcoming 390 Duke might come with traction control and cornering ABS, like the RC 390. The current-gen’s full-LED lighting and Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display might also remain.
The next-generation model should be unveiled by the year’s end, and the launch in India might happen in the first half of 2024. The next-generation KTM 390 Duke should cost between Rs. 3.25 lakh and Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It is because the upgraded feature list is expected to increase the costs.
