Aprilia RS 457 to Hit Indian Roads on December 8 at IBW 2023

Piaggio India is gearing up for the much-anticipated launch of the Aprilia RS 457, which was initially showcased during the Indian MotoGP round in September. The company is set to unveil the price at the upcoming India Bike Week, with expectations that it will be positioned under Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Aprilia RS 457 holds a unique position in its class as the first motorcycle to be locally manufactured by Piaggio at its Baramati plant in India. Scheduled for export as well, the bike enters the market as a strong competitor against models like the KTM RC 390 and the upcoming Yamaha R3, both slated for launch in December.

Setting itself apart the RS 457 boasts an aluminum chassis distinguishing it from its peers. Additionally, it incorporates electronic riding assists such as traction control and various riding modes. The bike is powered by a new twin-cylinder motor, generating an impressive 48hp which makes it the most powerful in its segment. Despite a weight of 175kg, slightly more than its rivals, the Aprilia RS 457 promises a dynamic and thrilling riding experience.

In terms of pricing, industry expectations place the Aprilia RS 457 between the KTM RC 390 (Rs 3.18 lakh) and the estimated price range of the Yamaha R3 (Rs 4 lakh-4.5 lakh). Significantly, it is anticipated to be priced lower than its closest competitor on paper, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Rs 5.24 lakh). The official unveiling of the price is eagerly awaited at India Bike Week on December 8, 2023.
