Bajaj Starts Manufacturing Triumph Speed 400 in India – Live Photos

Triumph Motorcycles and Bajaj Auto recently launched the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X in India. The Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2,33,000, while the Scrambler 400X is expected to be priced at around Rs 2,45,000. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom. 

The latest update is that Bajaj Auto has started manufacturing the Speed 400 at its plant in Pune and the dealer dispatches have also begun. Triumph India has also posted a video of the manufacturing process on its Instagram channel. Here are the live photos from the Bajaj factory – 

The 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine powers both the Triumph motorcycles. This engine with a 6-speed gearbox produces a max output of 40 horsepower and 37.5 Nm of peak torque. Triumph Speed 400 is a sporty street bike with a rounded headlamp and semi-digital instrument cluster. It also comes with a stepped-up seat and curved fuel tank with knee indents. It also gets a low-slung exhaust and ride-by-wire throttle. 

Triumph has equipped Speed 400 with a switchable traction control system and Bosch dual-channel ABS. The Scrambler 400X is a more rugged motorcycle with a longer wheelbase and more upright ergonomics. It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels and gets 150mm suspension at the front and rear.

Here are some additional details about the Triumph Speed 400:

  • The Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc single-cylinder engine.
  • The bike produces 39.5 hp and 37.5 Nm of torque.
  • The bike has a top speed of around 160 kmph.
  • It gets a 300mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc brake at the rear.
  • It comes with a 17-inch alloy wheel at the front and a 17-inch alloy wheel at the rear.
  • It gets a full-LED headlamp, a LED tail lamp, and LED turn indicators.
  • It gets a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Triumph offers a 16,000 km service interval with 2 years of unlimited mileage warranty. This comes along with an extended warranty for another 3 years on the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. According to Bajaj, over the course of three years, maintenance costs for these new Triumph motorcycles will be lower than those for Royal Enfield 350 motorcycles.

The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are available for booking now through Triumph dealerships across India. Deliveries will start from the end of July 2023 for the Speed 400 and October 2023 for the Scrambler 400X.
