The electric variant of the ICE C3 hatchback, the eC3, has been introduced by Citroen in India. For the ‘Live’ version, the eC3 is available for an introductory price of Rs 11.50 lakh. For the ‘Feel’ model with a dual-tone paint option and Vibe Pack, the price rises to Rs 12.43 lakh. Citroen is offering the eC3 at a reserved price of Rs 25,000 and it will go on sale in 25 locations across the country.
A 29.2 kWh battery pack drives the electric motor located on the front axle of the Citroen eC3. This motor has a max output of 57 hp and a peak torque of 143 Nm. The eC3 is said to have a 0 to 60 km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 107 km/h. Together with regenerative braking, the Citroen eC3 also has two driving modes: Eco and Standard.
The Citroen eC3 offers two charging methods and a 320km claimed ARAI range. The first is a DC fast charger, which, according to the manufacturer, can charge the battery pack from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes. The second onboard AC charger, rated at 3.3kW, supports CCS2 rapid charging. A home charger can also be used to recharge the eC3 to charge from 10% to 100%, and it takes 10.5 hours.
There are two versions of the eC3 EV: Live and Feel. The higher-specified Feel has the same features as the petrol model but adds a 10.2-inch touchscreen. It offers Bluetooth Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker audio system, and a driver’s seat with height change. The connected car tech is also available in the eC3, thanks to the MyCitroen Connect app. The safety features for the Citroen electric comprise dual airbags, ABS and EBD.
