The Ather Rizta, an upcoming addition to the Ather family of electric scooters, has recently been spotted undergoing testing in Bengaluru. Even with its extensive camouflage the spy photos reveal important details about its characteristics and design. Compared to the current 450X lineup the Ather Rizta appears to be larger and more spacious emphasizing practicality and usability.
Design and Bodywork
The design of the Ather Rizta is relatively conservative, likely appealing to a slightly mature audience. The scooter appears to place more emphasis on the comfort and convenience of its riders as evidenced by its longer seat and wider floorboard area. The scooter is being load tested with a rider, pillion, and luggage in recent photos demonstrating that it is suitable for use in real-world situations.
Proposed Battery and Motor Setup
While specific performance figures are yet to be confirmed, it is speculated that the Ather Rizta will feature a new battery and motor setup and it is anticipated that this configuration will provide greater range and faster speeds to meet the various demands of riders. It is predicted that the scooter will have features including ride modes, smartphone connectivity, complete LED illumination, a fully digital interface, and fast charging capabilities.
Suspension and Braking
Ather Energy is likely to equip the Rizta with telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear, ensuring a comfortable and stable ride. Braking hardware is expected to include front and rear disc brakes mounted on 12-inch wheels providing reliable stopping power in various road conditions.
Launch and Pricing
The launch of the Ather Rizta EV is scheduled for mid-2024, with an official announcement expected around June. In terms of pricing, the scooter is projected to be priced between Rs. 1.25 to Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a competitor to the TVS iQube range.
