Fuel Price Hike (Latest Update): The daily hike in the fuel prices has become a constant reason of worry for people all over India. People have started to notice the trends of the change and every time the price increases, as it is, the records for the highest price are broken. The price for petrol has reached a record high of INR 90.08 per liter in Mumbai while the price of diesel has soared up to INR 78.58 per liter in Mumbai. These are the highest prices in the country to date.

When the prices were last observed on September 17, 2018, the price of petrol in Mumbai was INR 89.44 per litre while the same for diesel was INR 78.33 per litre in Mumbai. The price of petrol on January 01, 2018 was INR 77.87 per litre in Mumbai while the price of diesel was INR 63.35 per litre in Mumbai. This goes on to show how drastically the prices have increased within a span of 9 months.

However, an issue will arise which might cause further inflation in the prices. The fuel dispensers on most of the fuel stations in India are calibrated to show the prices only up to INR 99.99 per litre.
