The prices have hit an all-time high today, with the price of petrol in Mumbai being INR 86.56 per litre while the price of diesel in Mumbai being INR 75.54 per litre on September 3, 2018. The lowest price that you can find today in any state is in Mizoram, with the prices of petrol being INR 75.05 per litre and diesel being INR 68.51 per litre. Just one month ago, on August 3, 2018, the price of petrol in Mumbai was INR 83.94 per litre while that of diesel was INR 72.21 per litre. The increase in about INR 3 per litre in just a month represents the rate of inflation on a basic necessity like fuel.
